We started with a clear objective: eliminate chick culling on a global scale through early, non-invasive detection. This outdated practice still impacts billions of lives, and we're here to change that. We're not building for the niche, we're building for the global standard. Today, our systems are already in use, and the focus is on scaling performance, robustness, and deployment across an international customer base. For us, scaling means more than growth. It means changing an industry for the better. We are looking for people who take ownership, think in systems, and want to help turn a working product into the industry benchmark. If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you. ## What We're Looking For We're looking for a Technical Project Manager who runs our hardware development projects end to end and holds the thread between our engineers, our external partners, and our leadership. Our system combines optics, mechanics, electronics, and embedded control with machine learning on top. Most of what you manage is hardware, but every hardware decision touches software and data science, and you make sure those pieces move together. Development happens in-house, but parts of it are outsourced to production partners and component suppliers. You keep those external work packages aligned with our internal timelines, specifications, and quality standards. Our Sales Engineering team owns the customer relationship; you make sure their requirements turn into delivered systems. You take ownership end to end, hold yourself to a high standard, and focus on outcomes that matter for the customer. You communicate openly, give honest feedback, and build trust through your actions. ## What You'll Build - Own the plan for our hardware development projects, from concept and prototypes to release for series production - Keep hardware, software, and data science development in sync: interfaces, test campaigns, integration milestones, and releases - Prioritize the integration backlog together with our tech leads and align it with customer commitments - Manage the outsourced parts of our development with production partners and component suppliers: scope, specifications, timelines, and quality - Integrate partner timelines into the overall project plan and resolve conflicts before they become blockers - Plan and coordinate system deployments together with Sales Engineering: installation scheduling, spare parts, and incident handling - Plan and monitor project budgets, track risks, and initiate corrective measures early - Deliver clear, regular reporting on milestones, trial outcomes, and project status to leadership ## What You Bring - 3 to 5 years of experience in technical project management in a hardware development environment: machinery, medtech, robotics, optics, or comparable - Solid understanding of hardware development, from prototyping to release for small series production - Experience coordinating outsourced development work with manufacturers or key suppliers - Enough understanding of software and data science to spot dependencies to the hardware and plan integration realistically - Experience with project budgets and risk tracking - Strong communication skills: you naturally become the connective tissue between engineers, partners, and leadership - A structured, hands-on working style and an affinity for using AI tools in your daily workflow - Fluent English. Fluent German is a strong plus for working with our partners and suppliers - Willingness to travel occasionally to our partners - Nice to have: experience with embedded systems, optics, or agile product ownership Not ticking every box? That's okay. If this role excites you and you bring most of what we've described, we want to hear from you. ## What You'll Get Mission & Technical Challenge: At Omegga, you work on problems that are both technically demanding and globally relevant. We build deep-tech solutions with real-world impact, pushing the boundaries of what's currently possible. Relocation Support: Moving to Munich? We help you find an apartment in the Werksviertel within walking distance of the office. We connect you with the right contacts and take the stress out of apartment hunting. Work Environment: Located in Munich's Werksviertel, we combine a focused, high-performance culture with flexibility. Up to 50% remote work, depending on role and execution needs. Ownership: VSOPs (Virtual Stock Options) so you share in the value you help create. Time Off: 28 vacation days per year, plus December 24th and 31st off. ## Benefits & Growth - Monthly meal budget for whatever keeps you going, from quick lunches to proper team dinners - Monthly perks budget to spend where it actually matters to you — fitness, mobility, or the occasional "I earned this" purchase - Annual learning budget to invest in your growth, from conferences to deep dives into new domains - Free drinks, coffee, and snacks in the office to keep you focused throughout the day ## About Omegga ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Omegga develops a non-invasive, AI-powered spectroscopy solution for early-stage in-ovo sex detection of chicken embryos to eliminate the practice of culling male chicks. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: Munich, Germany - **Founded**: 2020 - **Founders**: Katharina Maria Hesseler (CEO), Paul Günther (Co-Founder), Till Nöllgen (Co-Founder & Technischer Geschäftsführer) ## Core Business - **Primary industry/industries**: AgTech (Agricultural Technology), Biotechnology, Animal Welfare Technology - **Target customers**: B2B – Hatcheries, egg-laying farms, and poultry industry operators, primarily in regulated markets (e.g., Germany, France, EU). - **Mission or purpose statement**: To accelerate the world’s transition to culling-free egg production and become the leading global provider for in-ovo sexing, making poultry farming more ethical and resource-efficient. ## Products & Services - **OmeggaOne System**: A hardware-software solution integrating a rotating measurement arm into existing hatchery incubator infrastructure. It uses visible light to non-invasively scan embryonated eggs every 5 hours from incubation day 3-6. Collected data is uploaded to the cloud, where an AI model determines the sex of the embryo by day 7. Male and unviable eggs are then removed and repurposed for secondary use (e.g., vaccine industry), freeing up over 50% of incubator space. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly available. - **Key Metric**: Total funding of ~€12.4M USD. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: IQ Capital, Capnamic, EIC Fund, OMA Ventures (ex-ProGlove founders), Getty Labs, Rockstart AgriFood, EIT Food, StartLife, and the European Innovation Council (EIC). - **Growth Signals**: - Awarded €2.4 million in non-dilutive funding from the European Innovation Council (top 4% of applicants). - Completed large-scale industry pilots with German hatchery Gut Averfeld. - First customer fully equipped with the OmeggaOne System in 2025, with further customer implementations ongoing. - Hosted 70+ customers and industry experts for live demonstrations in Münster. - Currently doubling team size (14 employees as of mid-2026, +40% YoY). - Featured in major television formats and at trade fairs like EuroTier 2024 and VIV Europe 2026. ## Competitive Advantages - **Cost-Effectiveness**: Core technology uses visible light (“Nothing is cheaper than light”), making it affordable, fast, and precise. It requires no consumables like chemicals or needles and no additional personnel. - **Non-Invasive & Early**: The method is purely optical and non-invasive, ensuring no harm to the embryo. Sex is determined by day 7 of incubation, well before the embryo can feel pain, and early enough to repurpose eggs efficiently. - **Regulatory Alignment**: Directly addresses bans on chick culling in Germany (2022) and France (2023), and anticipates an EU-wide ban. Offers hatcheries a compliant, economically viable alternative. - **Scalable Integration**: The measurement arm is designed to integrate into existing hatchery incubator infrastructure, minimizing disruption and capital expenditure for customers. - **Patented Technology**: Holds at least one patent for its measuring system and method (filed August 2023). ## Strategic Focus - **Market Expansion**: After successful piloting and first customer deployment in Germany, the company is moving toward broader market availability (targeting the German market in 2025, now scaling). - **Product Development**: Continuing to refine the OmeggaOne system, with a focus on reliability, speed, and integration at scale. - **Team Scaling**: Actively hiring to double the team, focusing on robotics, deep learning, mechanical engineering, and customer-facing roles to support commercial growth. - **Global Ambition**: Aiming to become the leading global provider for in-ovo sexing, with sights set beyond poultry into broader spectroscopy applications. ## Why Work Here - **Mission-Driven Impact**: The company’s core purpose is to solve a massive ethical and environmental problem—the culling of 7 billion male chicks annually. Employees directly contribute to a more humane and sustainable food system. - **High-Growth Environment**: The company is in a rapid scaling phase (doubling headcount, new funding, first commercial customers), offering significant ownership, responsibility, and career growth opportunities. - **Interdisciplinary Team**: The team comprises entrepreneurs, engineers, veterinarians, and industry experts, creating a rich, cross-functional learning environment. - **Location & Perks**: Based in Munich, Germany. The company is backed by top-tier European VCs and has a strong engineering culture focused on robotics, AI, and hardware. Specific remote/hybrid policy is not publicly detailed, but the hands-on nature of the hardware suggests a strong on-site presence. - **Recent Funding & Stability**: A recent €10M equity round led by IQ Capital and Capnamic, plus non-dilutive EIC funding, provides a strong financial runway for the upcoming growth phase. ## Sources 1.
