At Formlabs, we're building the tools that make it possible for anyone to bring their ideas to life, from cutting-edge products to life-saving medical devices. Our 3D printing technology powers innovation at more than 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. Together, we're helping everyone design, prototype, and manufacture faster than ever before. We're a team of hands-on builders, engineers, and innovators reinventing how the world makes physical things. If you're ready to shape the future of fabrication, come build it with us. ## Your Impact Global Services is the team customers reach when they have a critical print failure before a deadline, when a dental lab needs a printer back online the same day, or when a contract manufacturer is scaling from three printers to thirty. We run technical support, field service, and self-service via AI and our support site across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. This role reports to the Global Head of Services and exists to take on the problems nobody currently owns: the ones that cut across regions, span Services and Product and Sales, and have no obvious answer on day one. You'll define the problem, build the case, get the org aligned, and then actually ship the change. Alongside that, you'll carry real operating responsibility, because we want strategists who are accountable for performance and results. You will own our AI and self-service strategy and lead the team who is transforming our post-sales customer experience. This role will be at the forefront of our most exciting initiatives, launching new capabilities that strengthen our reputation for the best in class customer support.  This role also provides a path to regional and global leadership of our services team. The Job - Own two or three ambiguous, high-stakes initiatives at a time, from framing the problem through implementation and change management. Recent examples: rebuilding technical training for sales, service and resellers; owning our AI roadmap for customer support; stand up service capabilities for new product launches. - Run day-to-day execution for a team, with real KPIs, headcount decisions, and a weekly operating cadence - Build the analysis that settles arguments. Pull the data, model the trade-offs, and bring a recommendation that survives scrutiny from people who know the business - Work across Product, Sales, Supply Chain, and Systems without formal authority, and work through obstacles to get decisions made - Represent Services in executive forums with the C suite. Document the analysis, present the case and take the questions. ## What We're Looking For - 3+ years in management consulting, business or revenue operations, strategy, chief of staff roles, or an operating role at a fast-growing hardware or technology company - A track record of owning something ambiguous end-to-end. We'll ask you to walk us through a project where the problem wasn't defined when you started, and we'll ask what happened after the recommendation, not just what was in the deck - You can build the long term roadmap and dive into technical weeds of a customer escalation to get it resolved quickly - Strong quantitative chops: you build your own models, you're skeptical of your own numbers, and you can explain a complex trade-off in three sentences to someone who has ten minutes - Genuine interest in leading people. You may or may not have managed before. If you haven't, we'll teach you, but you have to want it - Willingness to get close to the actual work. Our best leaders have troubleshot a print failure themselves and engaged directly with end customers Bonus Points - Consulting experience at Bain, McKinsey, or BCG, ideally with service operations or hardware clients - MBA from a top program, or the equivalent experience from a high-growth operating role - STEM degree - Experience in customer support, field service, or post-sales at a high performing hardware tech company - SQL, Python, R; comfortable building with AI coding tools - Direct people management experience ## Why You'll Love This Role Services touches every customer Formlabs has, which means the problems here are real and the feedback loop is short. You'll have direct access to executive leadership, ownership of initiatives that show up in company goals, and a clear path toward running a global services organization. We're a team that promotes from within, and this role is designed as a step toward senior leadership rather than a permanent staff position. Our Perks - Equity for every employee, granted as RSUs - Private health insurance - Catered lunches, plus snacks and drinks in the office - Commuter support: a transit pass or parking, depending on your office - Paid parental leave - Regular sponsored professional development opportunities - Many opt-in culture events across our diverse community - And of course… unlimited 3D prints ## Compensation We are all owners of Formlabs and direct beneficiaries of our success. We believe that equity is a critical component of compensation at Formlabs, and we want our newest team members to understand the potential value of their equity compensation. Full time employees receive equity, in the form of RSUs. Your financial investment will grow with us in accordance to your impact. At Formlabs, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. Your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location and expected impact on the organization. The annual base pay range for this role is: $135,000—$220,000 USD ## About Formlabs ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Formlabs designs and manufactures professional desktop 3D printers, materials, and software that make industrial-quality additive manufacturing accessible to businesses across a wide range of industries. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series E, valuation $2B as of 2021) - **Headquarters**: Boston, Massachusetts, USA - **Founded**: 2011 - **Founders**: Max Lobovsky, Natan Linder, David Cranor (MIT graduate students) ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: 3D printing hardware, software, and materials; additive manufacturing - **Target customers**: B2B — from small businesses and entrepreneurs to large enterprises in medical, automotive, aerospace, footwear, consumer goods, and education - **Mission/purpose**: “Enable anyone to make anything” – expanding access to digital fabrication through affordable, professional 3D printing ## Products & Services - **SLA 3D Printers (Form 3, Form 3L, Form 4)**: Desktop stereolithography printers that deliver industrial part quality, precision, and repeatability. - **SLS 3D Printers (Fuse 1, Fuse 1+)**: Selective laser sintering printers for functional, end-use nylon parts. - **Proprietary Materials**: Over 45 formulations including standard resins, engineering resins, dental materials, and jewelry casting resins. - **PreForm Software**: Free slicing and print preparation software optimized for Formlabs printers. - **Fleet Management Software**: Cloud-based platform for managing multiple printers, tracking usage, and automating workflows. ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: $2B (reported during the $150M Series E round in 2021) - **Key Metric**: Total funding of over $250M across rounds (Series A–E); 130,000+ printers sold and 300M+ parts printed globally - **Notable Investors/Partners**: New Enterprise Associates (NEA), DFJ, Tyche Partners, and other leading venture firms; customers include “global leaders” in medical, automotive, aerospace, and footwear - **Growth Signals**: Headcount of 750+ employees (up from ~550 in recent years); 161 active job postings as of mid-2026, with +631.8% year-over-year growth in postings; expansion into 8 global offices across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific; new manufacturing facility in Millbury, OH ## Competitive Advantages - **Vertical integration**: In-house design of hardware, software, and materials ensures a tightly optimized user experience and rapid iteration - **Proprietary ecosystem**: 45+ materials that work exclusively with Formlabs printers, creating a strong lock-in and consistent quality - **Accessibility + quality**: First to bring SLA and SLS to the professional desktop market at a fraction of the cost of industrial systems - **Scale and brand trust**: Over 130,000 printers in the field, used in 10+ industries, giving Formlabs the largest installed base of any professional desktop 3D printing company ## Strategic Focus - **Global expansion**: Deepening presence in Asia (Shenzhen, Tokyo, Singapore) and Europe (Berlin, Budapest) - **Manufacturing scale**: Building out production capacity in Millbury, Ohio to meet growing demand - **New market segments**: Developing specialized materials and application-specific printers for dental, jewelry, and mass-customization use cases - **Software and services**: Enhancing fleet management and workflow automation to move “from prototyping to production” ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Employees describe a culture of “curiosity, autonomy, and results” with a collaborative, hands-on environment.
