This highly organized, hands-on role owns the day-to-day presentation and operational readiness of the showroom - from sample inventory and merchandising to client support, new collection installations, supplies, and event coordination. The ideal candidate combines operational discipline with a strong visual sensibility, taking pride in creating a showroom environment that is organized, beautiful, easy to shop, and reflective of the Schumacher brand. Key Responsibilities: Showroom Operations & Client Experience - Serve as a welcoming and knowledgeable presence for clients visiting the showroom, helping them navigate the space, locate products and samples, and access product information. - Maintain the overall organization, cleanliness, presentation, and operational readiness of the showroom, sample library, hospitality areas, workspaces, and back-of-house areas. - Support incoming client requests by phone and in person, including sample requests, product information, pricing inquiries, shipping questions, and memo orders. - Anticipate showroom needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes, organization, efficiency, and the overall client experience. - Manage expenses for the showroom and region. Sample & Inventory Management - Own the organization and maintenance of the showroom sample library, ensuring samples are accurately inventoried, replenished, scanned in/out, and easy for clients and team members to locate. - Monitor sample inventory and proactively order replenishment based on showroom activity, client demand, selling trends, and upcoming launches. - Manage sample returns, backorders, outgoing shipments, Grab & Go assortments, and excess inventory while communicating relevant updates to clients and sales partners. - Maintain accurate inventory and operational records and ensure appropriate systems and processes are consistently followed. Visual Merchandising & Product Presentation - Own the visual presentation and shoppability of the showroom, ensuring products are thoughtfully organized, accurately labeled, properly displayed, and aligned with Schumacher merchandising standards. - Coordinate monthly new collection installations, including receiving and inventorying new product, updating displays, adding samples to the library, producing or requesting labels and signage, and removing or repositioning existing product as needed. - Continually assess showroom categories and displays to improve product flow, organization, discoverability, and visual impact. - Maintain showroom signage, product tags, swingers, perms, wallcovering panels, trims, accessories, decor, and other visual elements to a consistently high standard. Sales, Marketing & Community Support - Partner closely with the sales team to support client outreach initiatives, including inspiration packages, gifting, welcome kits, new collection materials, and other sampling programs designed to drive engagement. - Develop familiarity with regional clients, product trends, best-performing products, and sales opportunities to better anticipate showroom and sampling needs. - Support showroom and community events through event preparation, RSVP management, materials and supply ordering, run-of-show coordination, setup, and budget tracking. - Collaborate with sales, marketing, and other cross-functional partners to ensure showroom activity supports broader regional business priorities. Required Qualifications: - 2+ years of experience in showroom operations, visual merchandising, retail operations, hospitality, interior design, luxury retail, or a similarly client-focused environment. - Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple ongoing priorities. - Strong visual sensibility and appreciation for interior design, color, pattern, materials, and product presentation. - Demonstrated ability to take ownership of a physical environment and proactively identify what needs to be addressed. - Strong written and verbal communication skills with a polished, service-oriented approach to clients and colleagues. - Comfortable working with inventory systems, spreadsheets, order-management tools, shipping systems, and other operational technology. - Ability to work collaboratively across sales, operations, marketing, and other teams while independently managing day-to-day responsibilities. - Ability to perform the physical requirements associated with maintaining and merchandising a showroom, including handling samples, moving merchandise and supplies, and installing or adjusting displays. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience within the interior design, textile, wallcovering, furniture, luxury home, or trade showroom industry. - Previous experience with visual merchandising or showroom installations. - Familiarity with inventory and sample-management systems. - Experience supporting events, client outreach programs, or trade-focused customer experiences. Success Factors Success in this role requires a strong sense of ownership. The showroom should feel as though someone is consistently paying attention - from the organization of the sample library to the condition of the displays and the ease with which clients can navigate the space. The successful candidate will demonstrate proactivity, organization, creativity, collaboration, adaptability, and a genuine passion for design. They anticipate needs rather than simply responding to them, continuously look for ways to improve operations and presentation, and understand that an exceptionally maintained showroom contributes directly to client engagement and sales. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is someone who naturally notices the details - an empty sample bin, a crooked label, an overcrowded display, a client who needs assistance, or an operational process that could work better - and takes initiative to address them. They are equally comfortable organizing an inventory system, merchandising a beautiful product display, assisting a designer, coordinating a shipment, and preparing the showroom for an event. They thrive in a fast-paced, design-driven environment and take genuine pride in making a space both beautiful and exceptionally functional. Work Environment This is a showroom-based, in-person position requiring regular interaction with clients and internal team members. The role requires flexibility to support new product installations, client events, showroom initiatives, and other activities that may occasionally fall outside the standard workday. ## Benefits Package Your well-being is our top priority.
