We're Alma 👋 We're on a mission to make immigration more accessible, transparent, and human through cutting-edge technology and thoughtful legal support. We're backed by top-tier investors (Bling, Forerunner, Village Global, NFX, NEA, MVP, Conviction, and Silkroad Innovation), and our team combines decades of experience across immigration law, product, operations, and high-growth startups. We're looking for a video-obsessed creator to join our content engine as a Social Video Creator. Your job is to make a lot of really good short-form video: Reels, LinkedIn videos, talking-head clips, event recaps, and every other kind of short video that stops the scroll. You'll own video from idea to edit to posting, working within our broader content strategy to show the world what Alma is building for immigrants and the teams who hire them. If you live and breathe short-form video and can turn a raw moment into a clip people want to share., we want to meet you. No prior professional experience required—you could be a college freshman for all we care. All we need is a portfolio of short videos you've made that make us think, "Wow, we'd watch this start to finish." ## What You'll Do Make Short-Form Video (Lots of It) - Shoot, edit, and publish short-form video: Reels, TikToks, LinkedIn videos, YouTube Shorts, talking-head clips, and event recaps - Bring ideas that are native to the platforms we're on: X, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok - Turn product features, company moments, and cultural trends into scroll-stopping short videos Move at the Speed of Culture - Stay in tune with video trends and formats before they peak, and turn them around fast - Own the full video process end to end: concept, filming, editing, captions, sound, and posting - Work fast, iterate often, and hold a high creative bar for every cut You Should Apply If - You have a reel or portfolio of short-form video that makes us say "I wish we made that" - You're fluent in shooting and editing short-form video (CapCut, Premiere, Final Cut, or any AI editors out there) and know what makes a clip land - You have strong instincts for what performs on video, and why - You can move fast without sacrificing quality - You're comfortable with AI tools and excited to use them in your workflow - You're available to work a hybrid schedule based in the Bay Area, including filming on-site and at events You Should NOT Apply If - You're focused on static posts, copywriting, or strategy over actually making video. This role is video-first and output-driven - You need a slow, highly structured environment. We move fast and iterate constantly - You're uncomfortable putting your work out into the world quickly and learning from what lands What It's Like to Work at Alma We're a fast growing, mission-driven team reimagining immigration from the ground up. We value thoughtfulness, speed, and building systems that scale. We work closely across functions and care deeply about the people we serve. ## Benefits & Perks - Competitive compensation based on your expertise - A multi-month engagement with potential to extend - Creative freedom to make what you want and see it go live fast - A front-row seat to startup growth, with mentorship from a marketing team you can learn a ton from A Quick Note We know the "perfect" candidate doesn't exist. If this role excites you but you don't meet every qualification, we'd still love to hear from you. Immigration is complex. So are people. That's what makes this work so meaningful. ## About Alma ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Alma is a technology-driven immigration law firm that combines expert attorneys with an AI-powered platform to deliver faster, higher-quality visa and green card outcomes for individuals and businesses. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A) - **Headquarters**: Palo Alto, California, United States - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Shuo Chen (CTO & Co-Founder), Assel Tuleubayeva (CPO & Co-Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Legal Services (Immigration Law / LegalTech) - **Target customers**: B2B (companies hiring immigrant talent) and B2C (individuals applying for visas or green cards); primarily serves SMBs and growing enterprises. - **Mission statement**: "Transform the immigration industry" by combining attorney expertise with AI/ML to streamline the complex immigration process. ## Products & Services - **Temporary Work Visas**: End-to-end support for E-2, E-3, H-1B, L-1A, L-1B, O-1A, O-1B, and TN visas.
