Our AI-powered continuous listening platform enables leaders to understand what matters most to their people and turn insights into meaningful action. We partner with the world's most innovative enterprises to drive transformation across engagement, performance, wellbeing, DEI, and change initiatives. ## The Role We're hiring a Software Engineer for our Integrations team, the team that builds and operates the layer connecting the Perceptyx platform to the external systems our customers already run — their HR systems, their applicant tracking systems, and the downstream tools and (increasingly) agentic systems they want Perceptyx data flowing into. This is an individual contributor role with real organizational impact. You'll also help shape how Perceptyx builds software in an AI-driven world. As AI-assisted development rapidly changes how software is written, tested, and delivered, we're intentionally bringing in engineers who can lead that transition, coach others, and raise the technical bar across the team. ## What You’ll Do - Own the Integration Boundary: Work directly with Platform and product engineering teams to define what belongs in the integration layer versus the services underneath it, bringing a clear point of view — not just implementing what's requested, but shaping what gets built and why. - Navigate Ambiguity: Take on problems that arrive as open questions rather than finished requirements — competing constraints from multiple teams, unclear ownership, vendor behavior you don't control — and drive them to a sound technical direction. - Lead and Multiply: Act as a technical leader on the Integrations team, coaching engineers and elevating modern software engineering and AI-first development practices across the organization. - AI-Driven Development: Champion the adoption of AI-assisted development, guiding the team on how to effectively and safely use AI for coding, testing, and delivery as tools and models rapidly evolve. - Architect and Build: Design, develop, and evolve the full breadth of the integration surface — ingesting customer data, the client-facing APIs that serve users and agents, and the in-product portal where customers configure and monitor it all. - Design for Correctness: Build defensively against the failure modes that define this domain — duplicate delivery, partial writes, schema drift, mapping corruption, and silent data loss — and design the instrumentation that catches them before a customer does. - Scale and Optimize: Anticipate performance and scaling challenges as connector volume grows, using monitoring, load testing, and observability tools to drive continuous improvement. - Collaborate and Influence: Partner closely with Product, Professional Services, and third-party integration vendors to deliver cohesive solutions, and clearly communicate technical decisions across teams. ## What You Bring - Engineering Experience: 5+ years of professional software development experience, including system design, development, and testing of scalable, database-driven applications. - Third-Party Integration Depth: Real experience building against APIs you don't control — handling authentication, rate limits, pagination, partial failures, and vendor-side changes that arrive without warning. - API Design Judgment: Experience shipping customer- or partner-facing APIs, with a point of view on endpoint design, versioning, authentication, and tiered access control. - Data Correctness Instinct: Comfort with ingestion pipelines where being subtly wrong is worse than being down — field mapping, idempotency, schema drift, and reconciliation against a source of record. - Cross-Team Influence: Confidence in engaging directly with the teams you depend on to negotiate scope, push back where needed, and secure real commitment before work starts — not just take requirements at face value. - Technical Leadership Mindset: A passion for coaching, influencing, and elevating other engineers through modern software engineering practices. - Backend Strength: Proficiency in Go, Python, or a comparable server-side language. - Data & Platforms: Experience with relational (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases, event-driven and webhook-based architectures, and cloud object storage. - AI-First Development: Hands-on experience using AI-assisted coding tools like GitHub Copilot or Cursor, with a strong point of view on prompt design, validation, and safe use of AI-generated code. - Quality & Operations: Familiarity with automated and load testing, CI/CD, and observability tools such as Datadog. - Communication & Judgment: Clear communicator with strong problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and the ability to collaborate and lead across teams. Our Interview Process & AI Transparency Compliance Note: Required for Ontario (Bill 149) and North American transparency standards. At Perceptyx, we value your time and want our interviewers to be fully engaged in the conversation. - Note-Taking: We use Metaview.ai to record and summarize our interviews. This allows our hiring team to focus on you rather than typing notes, ensuring a fairer evaluation. - AI Disclosure: While we use AI to assist in summarizing interview data, all final hiring decisions are made by Perceptyx employees. - Your Choice (Opt-Out): Participation in recorded interviews is voluntary. If you prefer not to be recorded, please notify your recruiter at the start of the session. Opting out will not negatively impact your candidacy. ## Compensation & Benefits Salary Range: $120,000 – $180,000 CAD per year. - - Note: Final compensation is determined by factors including experience, geography, and skills. - Benefits: Comprehensive health coverage; RRSP matching; generous PTO; parental leave; and professional development budget. Perceptyx is an equal opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce. In accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA), Perceptyx provides accommodations for people with disabilities throughout the recruitment process. ## About Perceptyx ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Perceptyx provides an AI-powered employee experience platform that unites employee listening, personalized coaching, and adaptive learning into a single system to drive workforce capability and business impact. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A per Tracxn; backed by TCV) - **Headquarters**: Temecula, California, United States - **Founded**: 2003 (per LinkedIn) or 2018 (per Tracxn) — conflicting reports - **Founders**: Not publicly available ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Employee Experience / HR Technology / People Analytics - **Target customers**: B2B, primarily large enterprises (over 600 global enterprises, including one-third of the Fortune 100) - **Mission or purpose statement**: “To help organizations activate their people and achieve success” (from company culture page) ## Products & Services - **Discover**: Continuous listening platform that captures employee feedback across multiple channels and surfaces actionable insights. - **Activate**: AI-powered coaching and intelligent nudges delivered inside Microsoft Teams, Slack, email, and mobile tools to drive behavior change. - **Develop**: Adaptive, Socratic-style learning conversations that validate comprehension using an organization’s own content. - **Solutions**: Employee engagement surveys, candidate & employee lifecycle listening, L&D integration.
