As a result, our digital ordering, payment, and guest engagement solutions enable brands to do more with less and make every guest feel like a regular. While our roots are in NYC, we’re intentionally investing in Belfast and Northern Ireland as a key hub, with an established leadership presence, a local team, and community for the long term. This role is fully remote, offering you flexibility to work from anywhere within NI. ## Your new role In this role, you’ll join as a Software Engineer II on the ‘In-Store’ team, which is part of the wider ‘Order’ engineering group. The ‘In-Store’ squad is focused on building and improving the integrations with new and existing POS (Point of Sale) partners and systems. They ensure that customers orders successfully flow through the Olo ecosystem by driving critical SLA’s, uptime and overall performance when it comes to integrations with external partners. This position is perfect for someone who has experience in the POS domain or who has been building systems that integrate with external partner platforms. You’ll have the support of a highly experienced engineering team consisting of 8 engineers in one squad. On a management level, the team is led by a dedicated Engineering Manager. ## How you’ll make an impact - Deliver small-to-medium features independently, with some initial guidance, contributing across much of the team’s domain and components. - Collaborate with Product, Design, and other stakeholders to drive requirements for the work in front of you, and make well-reasoned design decisions at a component level, understanding the trade-offs involved. - Write code with testability, readability, and maintainability in mind. - Troubleshooting and incident management efforts, helping Senior Engineers to resolve critical production issues and improving system reliability. - Actively seek to learn about new technologies and trends, and how they might apply to what we’re building. - Use Claude Code and GitHub Copilot extensively as part of your daily workflow, and grow your skills through hands-on AI training designed to help you become highly effective with modern AI coding agents and IDEs. - Consistently contribute to team documentation, sharing what you learn with the squad, and providing useful feedback during estimation and in retrospectives. - Active participation in on-call duties is required, with specific responsibilities determined by your assigned team and area of expertise. What will set you up for success - Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience. - 2+ years of experience in software engineering post graduation. - Good experience in the .Net and C# ecosystem. - Working knowledge of architectural patterns for distributed systems (e.g., microservices, event-driven architecture using Kafka), and the judgement to weigh design trade-offs at a component level. - Experience working with cloud infrastructure and services (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes/EKS) and implementing DevOps best practices using CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Octopus Deploy, and Terraform. ## About Olo Olo is a leading restaurant technology provider with ordering, payment, and guest engagement solutions that help brands increase orders, streamline operations, and improve the guest experience.
