Our team has decades of experience in building and maintaining large-scale production systems at Databricks, Facebook, Thoughtspot, Google, Splunk, and Amazon. As a company, we are extremely well-funded by some of the top VCs in the valley and are fortunate to have the backing of stellar investors and advisors. ## Role Description We are seeking interns for the fall 2024 season. This is a paid, on-site internship role at Deductive AI located in Mountain View, CA. As a Software Engineering Intern at Deductive AI, you will be building the next generation of foundational code and data processing systems that can reason on extremely large amounts of structured and unstructured data. This role involves deep technical challenges where you will be working on solving some very interesting problems at the intersection of AI, code understanding, and data analytics. Qualifications: - Enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, or a related technical field, with a strong academic record. - Strong foundation in computer science with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and system design. - Familiarity with advanced programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Javascript or C++, with a strong grasp of algorithm optimization. - Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries, and a keen interest in applying ML techniques to real-world problems. - Previous experience or knowledge of code and observability tools, real-time analytics, and large-scale system design is highly desirable. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. What We Offer: - Hands-on experience in a fast-growing startup with a disruptive product. - Direct mentorship from highly experienced engineers and interaction with our renowned advisors and investors. - A collaborative, inclusive, and dynamic work environment. - Competitive compensation and potential for full-time opportunities. - Opportunities to attend, publish, and speak at leading academic and industry conferences ## About Deductive AI ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Deductive AI builds AI SRE agents that automatically detect, diagnose, and resolve software incidents by reasoning over code, telemetry, and system relationships. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: Mountain View, California, United States (with presence in London, United Kingdom) - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Sameer Agarwal (Co-founder & CTO/CPO), Rakesh Kothari (Co-founder & CEO), and Ajeet Singh (Co-founder & Chairman) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: AI-powered Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) / Observability / DevOps - **Target customers**: B2B, engineering teams at mid-to-large enterprises (e.g., DoorDash, Kumo AI) - **Mission**: Help engineering teams break free from the endless cycle of debugging so they can focus on building and shipping great features; powering a future of autonomous self-healing systems. ## Products & Services - **Deductive AI Platform (AI SRE Agents)**: A unified platform that connects to an organization’s code, logs, metrics, traces, and events. Uses agentic AI and reinforcement learning to generate hypotheses, test them against real system evidence, and surface precise root causes with actionable fixes. Available as SaaS or self-hosted. Built to resolve incidents in minutes rather than hours. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed (private). - **Key Metric**: $7.5M in seed funding (announced November 12, 2025). - **Notable Investors/Partners**: CRV (lead), Databricks Ventures, Thomvest Ventures, PrimeSet. Advisors include Ion Stoica (co-founder Databricks), Abhinav Asthana (CEO/co-founder Postman), Clint Sharp (SVP Engineering), Amit Singhal (former SVP Search), Ian Nowland (former SVP Engineering). - **Growth Signals**: Official launch in November 2025; 12 employees (headquartered in Mountain View and London); LinkedIn followers 2,885 with +126% yearly growth; published case studies with DoorDash and Kumo AI; active job postings for AI Engineer and Software Engineer Intern. ## Competitive Advantages - **Code-aware AI SRE agents** that understand entire systems via a continuously updated knowledge graph, going beyond traditional observability tools that only surface problems. - **Reinforcement learning** trained to mimic the workflow of experienced SREs, enabling autonomous hypothesis testing and evidence-based root cause analysis. - **Claimed 90% reduction in incident resolution time** — cuts investigation from hours to minutes. - **Data isolation and security** — offers self-hosted deployment, does not store customer data on its servers, and does not use customer data to train models for others. ## Strategic Focus - Expand AI agent capabilities to cover more complex, multi-service incidents and achieve full autonomous self-healing. - Scale go-to-market: leverage strong advisor network and early enterprise customers (DoorDash, Kumo AI) to grow presence in the observability and DevOps space. - Continue building out the engineering team, with open roles for AI engineers and interns. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Early-stage startup (12 people) with a high-impact mission to “make code fix itself.” Team includes veterans from Databricks, ThoughtSpot, Google, Meta, Amazon, and Splunk. Emphasis on innovation and building large-scale AI platforms from the ground up. - **Remote/Hybrid Policy**: Not explicitly stated, but HQ in Mountain View (US) and office in London (UK) suggests a hybrid/remote-friendly environment. - **Notable Perks**: Not publicly detailed, but typical for well-funded seed-stage startups: equity, direct access to founders and advisors, fast-paced learning environment, opportunity to shape product and company culture. ## Sources 1.
