WHY JOIN THE SHARED APPLICATIONS & SERVICES TEAM? ● You'll join a small, cross-functional team, made up of a Tech Lead, Lead Software Engineer, Product Owner and fellow engineers, alongside a Shared Applications & Services Manager and an architect who provide direction and support at the group level. ● There's a coaching function in place to help you get unblocked, and real scope to grow your technical and architectural understanding as you take on more. ● The team cares about craft, collaboration and quality, and values sustainable delivery: good ways of working and time to improve how you build, not just what you ship. ## ABOUT THE ROLE As a Software Engineer (Mid), you'll independently deliver significant features end-to-end across systems that the whole business relies on, seeking support as needed while continuing to build your knowledge of design principles, testing methods and Redgate's internal systems. ● Work across systems spanning data, security, purchasing, licensing, identity, authentication and usage, supporting both product engineering teams and the wider business ● Real scope to influence architectural decisions and deepen your understanding of how Redgate's platform is designed and operated ● Take ownership of production issues, from investigation through to resolution and prevention ● Exposure to a broad tech stack spanning C#/.NET, React, Azure, event-driven architecture and observability tooling ● A role structured around learning while delivering: broadening your technical skills and system knowledge while contributing real value from day one ## WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT ● Solid experience with modern C#/.NET, SQL, source control and CI/CD pipelines, and confidence applying design principles and architectural patterns with an understanding of trade-offs in context ● A bias for simplicity and maintainability, backed by strong engineering practices including unit testing, code review, debugging and safe change management ● Awareness of distributed systems and operational risk, such as timeouts, retries, versioning and partial failures, and the judgement to apply this when changing shared or production systems ● Ability to investigate production and support issues using logs, telemetry, database queries and service-level diagnostics ● Strong communication skills, in person and in writing, particularly when explaining technical findings, risks or trade-offs to engineering and product partners ## WHAT WE OFFER Salary range: Up to £55,000 ● Hybrid working: home and Cambridge office ● Monthly wellbeing allowance and generous paid time off ● Genuine investment in learning, development, and career progression ● Private health insurance Link to full benefits page here https://example.com/benefits WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? ● Your application will be reviewed by a person.
