With decades of combined experience across architecture, engineering, and construction, we’ve felt the industry’s pain points firsthand — slow approvals, endless redlines, and unclear requirements that derail even the best designs. We built Spacial to fix that. Our AI-powered platform automates structural and MEP engineering, transforming 2D plans into permit-ready, code-compliant drawings in days, not months. This isn’t just optimization. It’s a new standard built to give the AEC industry speed, clarity, and control from day one. By connecting architects, engineers, builders, and homeowners on a single platform, Spacial eliminates friction, streamlines approvals, and accelerates how ideas become reality. ## Role Overview We are looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join Spacial for Summer 2026. This role is ideal for a student who is excited about building real product features, improving internal workflows, and working on applied AI initiatives. You will work closely with our team to develop features for our website, support workflow automation, and help with projects involving LLMs and AI model training. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants exposure to how a startup operates across multiple functions. The tools, workflows, and AI systems you help build may support a range of areas, including but not limited to go-to-market, operations, internal processes, and product development. ## What You’ll Do - Build, test, and ship features on the Spacial website - Help design and improve internal tools and workflow automations that increase speed and efficiency across teams - Support LLM- and AI-powered initiatives that can be applied across various parts of the business, including go-to-market, operations, customer workflows, and internal knowledge systems - Assist with training, evaluating, and improving AI models and prompts for practical business use cases - Collaborate with engineering, product, operations, and leadership on cross-functional projects - Prototype new tools and systems that help automate manual work and improve team productivity - Support debugging, QA, and deployment of new features and internal systems - Contribute to the technical implementation of experiments that improve how the company operates and serves customers Example Projects - Building new user-facing features and improvements for the Spacial website - Creating internal dashboards, scripts, or lightweight tools to streamline team workflows - Supporting LLM-based workflows for research, operations, customer support, or go-to-market efforts - Improving data pipelines or processes that help teams work more efficiently - Experimenting with AI tooling to reduce manual tasks and support faster decision-making - Assisting with backend integrations and automation across internal systems ## Qualifications ## Qualifications - Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript - Interest in AI, LLMs, and practical software development - Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Interested in gaining exposure to the many functions involved in building and running a startup ## Nice to Have - Experience building web applications - Exposure to backend development and APIs - Experience with machine learning tools or AI model workflows ## What You’ll Gain - Hands-on experience building real-world software features - Exposure to applied AI and LLM-based workflows - Opportunity to work closely with a startup team and contribute to meaningful projects - Mentorship from experienced engineers and operators Location & Duration - Summer 2026 (10–12 weeks) - Must be able to commute to our office in Palo Alto, CA ## About Spacial AI ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Spacial provides AI-enabled structural, MEP, and energy engineering services for residential projects, pairing licensed engineers with proprietary AI to deliver permit-ready plans in days. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage – $10M raised) - **Headquarters**: Palo Alto, California, United States (with presence in Israel) - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Maor Greenberg (CEO), Jay Klein (CTO), Ami Avrahami (CPO) ## Core Business - **Industries**: Residential construction engineering (structural, MEP, energy), proptech - **Target Customers**: Architects, home builders, developers – B2B - **Mission**: Transform how homes are engineered, approved, and delivered so teams can move from plan to permit in days, not months. ## Products & Services - **Stamped Structural Engineering**: Full structural plans, calculations, framing, and lateral systems prepared for permit-ready residential projects. - **MEP Engineering**: Coordinated mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering delivered as part of a single package. - **Energy Engineering & Compliance**: Title 24 and other state energy code modeling and compliance, integrated into the same workflow. - **AI-Powered Plan Review**: AI agents automatically detect clashes, load issues, and common code violations before licensed engineers review, enabling faster approval cycles. ## Market Standing - **Funding**: $10M Seed round (November 2025) led by TLV Partners - **Key Metric**: Total funding $10M; headcount of 24 employees (July 2026), growing 169% YoY - **Notable Investors/Partners**: TLV Partners (lead); acquired VRchitects (April 2025) - **Growth Signals**: Over 1,000 projects delivered; 400+ municipalities navigated; average 7–10 business day turnaround; 25% faster approval cycles; headcount expanded from ~9 to ~24 in one year; 3,265 LinkedIn followers (1,025% yearly growth) ## Competitive Advantages - **AI‑Assisted, Engineer‑Led**: Proprietary AI handles early clash detection and code checks, while all plans are reviewed and stamped by licensed engineers in‑house – giving speed without sacrificing professional liability. - **One Coordinated Partner**: Structural, MEP, and energy engineering under a single workflow, eliminating the coordination gaps that plague multi‑firm projects. - **Deep Code & Municipality Knowledge**: Built‑in local code and AHJ preferences for 400+ municipalities, reducing resubmittals and speeding approvals. - **Builder‑Friendly**: Founded by people with roots in both construction and technology, ensuring the service solves real‑world project constraints. ## Strategic Focus - **Expand National Network**: Building a network of architects, builders, and structural engineers to scale service coverage across the U.S. - **Platform vs. Service Model**: Remains an AI‑enabled services company (not a software platform) – technology is used to enhance delivery, but the core value is the stamped engineering package. - **Ongoing Product Development**: Continuing to invest in AI algorithms for plan review, coordination, and energy modeling to further reduce turnaround times. ## Why Work Here - **Mission‑Driven Team**: “Engineers, operators, builders, designers, and strategists” solving a broken industry process. - **Growth & Impact**: Rapidly scaling (24 people, 169% YoY growth) – employees have outsized ownership over outcomes. - **Tech + Construction Culture**: Engineers and AI researchers work directly with structural engineers and architects on real-world permitting problems. - **Work Environment**: Hybrid – HQ in Palo Alto, CA, with a major engineering presence in Tel Aviv, Israel. Small, collaborative teams. - **Notable Perks**: Opportunity to shape the early product and culture of a well‑funded seed‑stage company. Open roles include AI Researcher, Structural Engineer, and Software Engineering Intern. - **Recent Openings (as of mid‑2026)**: AI Researcher (Tel Aviv), Structural Engineer / Senior Structural Engineer (Palo Alto), Software Engineering Intern, Head of Sales, Junior Architectural Designer. ## Sources 1.
