Intelligence Center X delivers that today, through five capabilities — an Enterprise Knowledge Graph, AI/ML, agentic application development, orchestration, and governance — that together move enterprises from static software to intelligent, autonomous systems. For the customers we serve, that shift shows up in very concrete ways: engineers and data leaders who can finally find and trust the data buried across decades of enterprise systems; teams that go from idea to working application in days instead of quarters; and AI initiatives that move out of pilot purgatory and into production because the underlying data and governance can actually support them. Whether you're building this platform, proving its value to customers, or bringing it to market through our partner ecosystem, your work directly drives those outcomes for some of the most complex organizations in the world. This is one of the most ambitious enterprise AI platforms in the market — built on decades of deep domain expertise across industries as varied as manufacturing, banking, insurance, financial services, and healthcare, and already running in production at real scale for organizations with some of the most demanding data and compliance requirements in the world. If you want to work at the intersection of enterprise AI, knowledge graphs, and agentic applications — with real customers and real production stakes, across nearly every major industry — this is where that work is happening. Solution Architect Position Overview The Solution Architect is the technical leader for customer engagements delivered by Siemens Professional Services. Working across industries and a broad portfolio that includes Intelligence Center X (ICX), SLC, Mendix, and other Siemens Digital Industries Software offerings, this role translates business outcomes and process needs into secure, scalable, and supportable solution architectures. The role leads solution definition from discovery through design, build, integration, validation, deployment, and transition. The Solution Architect governs the integrity of the end-to-end solution, aligns customer and delivery teams around clear architectural decisions, and ensures that functional and non-functional requirements are implemented using Siemens methods, standard capabilities, and reusable patterns wherever practical. Success requires hands-on architecture leadership, strong customer communication, disciplined technical governance, and the ability to orchestrate applications, data, AI, integrations, and workflows into a coherent solution that can be operated and expanded over time. ## Key Responsibilities 1. Discovery and Solution Definition Lead technical discovery workshops to understand customer processes, business outcomes, users, data, systems, constraints, and measures of success. Partner with the Engagement Manager, Sales, Presales, and customer stakeholders to convert value hypotheses and high-level scope into an executable solution approach. Define the end-to-end architecture across relevant Siemens and customer capabilities, including applications, data, integrations, AI, workflow, identity, security, and operational considerations. Establish the solution vision, architecture principles, major design decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and acceptance criteria. Identify where standard product capabilities, configuration, extension, or custom development should be used, favoring maintainable and upgradeable patterns. Create solution-definition deliverables that provide sufficient clarity for estimation, planning, build, testing, deployment, and support. 2. Architecture and Design Governance Own the technical integrity and coherence of the complete solution, including components delivered by Siemens, customers, partners, and distributed teams. Author and govern architecture documents, functional and technical specifications, interface designs, data models, decision records, and implementation guidance. Define and validate non-functional requirements such as security, performance, scalability, availability, traceability, usability, and supportability. Lead design reviews and ensure implementation decisions remain aligned with the approved architecture, scope, and customer outcomes. Manage technical debt and deviations by documenting rationale, impact, risk, mitigation, and required approvals. Maintain traceability from requirements and business processes through design, configuration, integration, testing, and acceptance. Ensure the architecture supports sustainable operations, future roadmap needs, and appropriate reuse across releases or use cases. 3. Technical Delivery Leadership Provide day-to-day technical direction to consultants, developers, data and AI specialists, integration resources, QA teams, and partners. Decompose the solution into implementable work packages and support the Project Manager with estimates, sequencing, dependencies, and detailed work breakdown structures. Clarify design intent, resolve technical ambiguity, and remove blockers so distributed teams can execute efficiently. Validate that configured, extended, and integrated components implement the approved design and meet quality expectations. Coordinate technical activities across build, integration, data migration, testing, deployment, and transition to operations. Lead technical triage and root-cause analysis for complex cross-product or cross-domain issues, ensuring decisions and corrective actions are documented. Support release readiness, cutover planning, hypercare, and knowledge transfer from an architecture perspective. 4. Customer and Stakeholder Leadership Serve as the primary technical advisor to the customer during delivery, communicating architecture choices, tradeoffs, risks, and implications clearly. Guide customers toward Siemens best practices and standard capabilities while ensuring legitimate business and technical needs are addressed. Facilitate decisions across business, IT, security, architecture, and operational stakeholders when priorities or constraints conflict. Proactively manage customer expectations related to feasibility, scope, dependencies, quality, and technical risk. Present solution status, design decisions, and technical issues to project governance forums and executive stakeholders at the appropriate level of detail. Build customer capability through collaborative design, documentation, demonstrations, and structured knowledge transfer. 5. Quality, Risk, and Change Control Partner with QA and delivery leadership to define the validation strategy and verify coverage of functional and non-functional requirements. Identify architecture, integration, data, security, performance, and deployment risks early, with clear mitigations and owners. Assess proposed scope and design changes for technical feasibility, downstream impact, effort, schedule, and operational consequences. Support disciplined change control by providing evidence-based technical recommendations to the Project Manager and Engagement Manager. Confirm that technical deliverables, decisions, and acceptance evidence are complete before key stage gates and customer approvals. 6. Pursuit Support and Practice Development Support engagement shaping, proposals, demonstrations, estimates, solution narratives, Statements of Work, and delivery plans. Validate that proposed architectures and delivery approaches are feasible, appropriately scoped, and aligned with available skills and product capabilities. Contribute reusable reference architectures, patterns, accelerators, templates, lessons learned, and technical standards to the Solution Architecture community. Maintain practical fluency across the Siemens portfolio and relevant enterprise technologies, using specialists where deeper product expertise is required. Mentor consultants and technical leads in architecture methods, design quality, documentation, and customer communication. Represent Siemens with integrity and comply with applicable legal, commercial, information security, health and safety, and business conduct requirements. Required Qualifications Extensive experience designing and delivering enterprise software or digital transformation solutions, including technical leadership of multi-disciplinary implementation teams. Demonstrated ability to lead solution definition through build, integration, testing, deployment, and transition to operations. Strong architecture skills across applications, data, integrations, workflows, security, and non-functional requirements. Ability to translate business processes and desired outcomes into clear solution designs, implementation guidance, and acceptance criteria. Experience governing technical scope, design decisions, risks, dependencies, and change across customer, partner, and distributed delivery teams. Excellent workshop facilitation, presentation, written communication, and executive-level technical storytelling skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity, evaluate tradeoffs, and drive timely decisions without creating unnecessary conflict. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. Willingness to travel and work across customer locations and time zones as required, consistent with company policy and local requirements. ## Preferred Qualifications Experience with Siemens Digital Industries Software, including one or more of: Intelligence Center X (ICX) SLC Mendix Teamcenter NX Opcenter Graph Studio AI Studio Related Siemens portfolio offerings Experience architecting multi-product solutions that connect enterprise applications, industrial data, AI, low-code applications, and business workflows.
