In the pursuit of our mission, we are hiring a Speech & Language Pathologist. The Speech & Language Pathologist is responsible for identifying needs in speech and/or language in our students, and delivering intervention to support those needs. ## Minimum Qualifications - Master’s degree with major in Speech & Language Pathology (or related field) - Certificate of Clinical Competence or be in your Clinical Fellowship Year - Speech-Language Pathologist Certification - Commitment to Lansing School District’s mission and vision ## Preferred Qualifications - 5+ years of experience working with children, their families, and their school support systems - Experience working with a diverse population of students in an urban school setting Job Responsibilities - Conduct & attend IEP meetings; write IEPs as needed; and monitor their effectiveness - Conduct REEDs to evaluate students - Submit all required reports, data, and documentation in a timely manner - Schedule and deliver speech and/or language instruction to a caseload of students - Coordinate and provide consultative services to general education teachers, parents, and other special education staff in the areas of speech and language - Other tasks as needed in order to best serve Lansing students Work Environment & Physical Requirements - The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. - Must be able to move throughout the building and campus, including classrooms, hallways, and outdoor spaces. - Frequent verbal communication is required to instruct students, lead meetings, and collaborate with staff and families. - May be required to stand or walk for extended periods, including during supervisory duties. - Occasional bending, reaching, or sitting on the floor to interact with students. - Regular use of computers and instructional technology for planning, instruction, and communication. - Must be able to lift or carry instructional materials and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds. - Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
