Filigran stands out in the cybersecurity ecosystem through its open-source, AI-powered and threat-informed approach to Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM). Our eXtended Threat Management (XTM) platform brings together threat intelligence, exposure validation and cyber risk reduction, enabling organizations to better understand their threat landscape and take action. At the heart of Filigran is our open-source approach. Our vision is to unite defenders into a global community to make security more open, resilient and collaborative. As Filigran continues to scale globally, we are building the organization, infrastructure and capabilities needed for our next stage of growth. How we scale matters just as much as how fast we scale: our CORE values: Cohesion, Openness, Responsibility and Equity shape how we work together, make decisions and build for the future. Location: United States, East Coast (full remote) šŸŽÆ The Role We're looking for a Staff/Tech Lead Software Engineer to join the OpenCTI team with a distinct and high-leverage mission: drive technical collaboration with a key US-based partner actively contributing to OpenCTI. You'll be the technical anchor point ensuring this partnership produces efficient, high-quality, well-integrated contributions to the OpenCTI core project — while also driving technical vision and mentoring within Filigran's own engineering team. 🧭 Core Mission - Own and drive the technical relationship with a key external partner contributing to OpenCTI - Get involved early in technical refinement and design discussions for partner-driven features and contributions - Guide and coach partner developers on OpenCTI's architecture, coding standards, and best practices - Review and ensure the quality, consistency, and maintainability of external contributions before they land in core - Act as the bridge between the partner's engineering team and Filigran's internal roadmap, architecture, and standards - Proactively surface risks, blockers, and status to the Director of Engineering — clear, structured, no-surprises reporting šŸ’¼ Responsibilities - Act as technical relay and enabler for the partnership — not just a solo contributor - Contribute directly to key parts of the codebase, especially where partner and core work intersect - Facilitate technical refinement sessions and design reviews with partner engineers - Supervise, challenge, and elevate the technical quality of contributions coming from the partnership - Promote OpenCTI's best practices, code quality, and performance standards externally and internally - Coach engineers (internal and partner-side) via pair programming, code reviews, and structured feedback - Collaborate with EMs/POs on task sizing, scope alignment, and roadmap planning for partner-related work - Proactively report progress, risks, and technical alignment issues to the Director of Engineering and Product Manager šŸ¤ Who You'll Work With - Reports directly to the Director of Software Engineering - Primary counterpart: engineering leads/developers at a key external partner - Works closely with Filigran's tech leadership (OpenCTI Principal Engineer, VP Tech) and other staff engineers - Collaborates with Product (PO/PM) on iteration and milestone scope involving partner contributions - Collaborates with developers within the OpenCTI Engineering team on features and bug fixes āœ… Requirements - Strong experience with TypeScript - Hands-on experience with our technical stack: NodeJS, React, GraphQL, Elasticsearch, Redis - Strong hands-on experience leveraging AI tools (e.g. Copilot, Cursor, LLM-based agents) to accelerate and improve software development - Autonomy and ownership — proactive, self-directed, with strong reporting/alerting habits - Cybersecurity / CTI (Cyber Threat Intelligence) experience is not a requirement but definitely a strong plus 🧬 Profile - 8+ years in Software Engineering with a track record of reliable, iterative delivery - Comfortable in a full-remote, async-first environment, with colleagues from multiple time zones - Architectural force of proposal — pragmatic trade-offs, stakeholder alignment - Strong communication and diplomacy skills — this role requires influencing an external partner's engineering practices without formal authority over them - Plus: experience working with external stakeholders / partners / vendors - Plus: Open-source experience — contributing to, maintaining, or leading work on open-source projects 🌱 Why Join Filigran? More than just a job. We are a fast-growing, global and remote-first company, and we believe the best work combines purpose, impact and innovation. You’ll work alongside talented people across the world who care about what they build, how they build it, and the impact they make on the broader cybersecurity ecosystem. ⭐ Be part of something bigger We believe we do work that matters. Our open-source approach means that work extends beyond Filigran. You’re contributing to technology and ideas that strengthen a global community of defenders and help make cybersecurity more open and collaborative. šŸ’» Work at the edge of what’s next We bring together cybersecurity, open source and AI — giving you the opportunity to work with emerging technologies, experiment with new ways of working, and contribute to how they are applied in practice. šŸŒ Global opportunity without borders Be part of a fast-growing, truly international team — collaborating across Europe, North America, APJ and beyond, with the flexibility of a remote-first environment. As we grow, you’ll have opportunities to expand your scope, take ownership, learn quickly and grow with us. 🧭 A culture grounded in CORE Cohesion, Openness, Responsibility and Equity define how we work together — with openness, ownership, collaboration and respect. These are the principles that guide how we make decisions, treat people and grow together, especially when no one’s watching. šŸ’° What you can expect - Competitive compensation + equity — everyone shares in our success - Remote-first flexibility — work from wherever you’re based, with flexibility built into how we operate - 25 days PTO baseline — real time to disconnect, recharge and enjoy life outside work - Volunteer days — paid time to contribute to causes that matter to you - Set up for success — choose the equipment that works for you, with additional support for your remote work and development needs as our programs evolve - Two annual in-person get-togethers — one global company get-together and one team get-together, creating dedicated time to connect, collaborate and strengthen our culture beyond the screen šŸŒ Equal Employment Opportunity We enable cybersecurity through inclusion — from code to culture. At Filigran, we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We believe the diversity of our people makes our products and our team stronger. We welcome talent of every background, identity and lived experience, regardless of race, color, religion, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability or veteran status. What matters here is what you bring, not what you look like, where you’re from or how you identify. šŸš€ Ready to Join Us? Apply now and help us build the future of the cybersecurity ecosystem, together. ## About Filigran ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Filigran provides an open-source eXtended Threat Management (XTM) platform that unifies threat intelligence, adversarial exposure validation, and remediation to help organizations proactively anticipate and manage cyber threats. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C – $58M raised in November 2025) - **Headquarters**: New York, United States - **Founded**: 2022 - **Founders**: Samuel Hassine (CEO & Co‑founder), Julien Richard (CTO & Co‑founder) ## Core Business - **Industry**: Cybersecurity – specifically threat intelligence, breach and attack simulation, and crisis management. - **Target Customers**: B2B – enterprises, government organizations, and cybersecurity practitioners (6,000+ organizations served). - **Mission**: ā€œEmpower defense teams to be proactive — through open-source solutions that uncover threats and drive action.ā€ ## Products & Services - **[OpenCTI](https://filigran.io/)**: Cyber Threat Intelligence platform that helps organizations manage and operationalize CTI knowledge and observables.
