Il s'agit d'un poste de stage coopératif de 4 mois (avec possibilité de prolongation à 8 mois), basé à Montréal, pour la session Hiver 2026–2027. Nous recherchons des étudiant(e)s en fin de parcours (S3 ou équivalent). La maîtrise du français est requise pour ce poste. L'étudiant(e) acquerra une expérience pratique en développement logiciel dans un environnement d'ingénierie professionnel, en travaillant aux côtés de développeurs et d'ingénieurs systèmes expérimentés sur des projets concrets. Le rôle mettra fortement l'accent sur le développement Python et l'automatisation, notamment l'identification de processus manuels ou répétitifs pouvant être optimisés par le biais de logiciels. Responsabilités

- Développer, tester, déboguer et maintenir des scripts Python, des applications et des outils d'automatisation
- Concevoir et améliorer des flux de travail automatisés afin de réduire les tâches manuelles d'ingénierie et d'exploitation
- Créer des outils et utilitaires internes pour soutenir le provisionnement, la configuration, la surveillance, les tests et la gestion des systèmes
- Travailler avec des API, des données structurées et des systèmes logiciels existants pour intégrer et automatiser des processus
- Participer au développement et à la maintenance des logiciels utilisés pour soutenir les plateformes technologiques haute performance d'Exegy
- Diagnostiquer les problèmes logiciels et contribuer à l'analyse des causes profondes et à la résolution de problèmes techniques
- Rédiger un code propre, maintenable et bien documenté en suivant les bonnes pratiques de développement logiciel établies
- Développer des tests unitaires et participer aux revues de code afin d'améliorer la qualité et la fiabilité des logiciels
- Maintenir la documentation technique pour les applications, les scripts d'automatisation, les flux de travail et les processus d'ingénierie
- Collaborer avec les développeurs, les ingénieurs systèmes et d'autres équipes techniques pour comprendre les besoins et les traduire en solutions logicielles concrètes
- Rechercher et évaluer de nouvelles technologies, outils et approches susceptibles d'améliorer l'automatisation et l'efficacité de l'ingénierie
- Participer aux réunions d'équipe, aux discussions techniques et au cycle de développement logiciel dans son ensemble

Profil recherché

- En fin de parcours dans un programme de génie informatique, de génie logiciel, d'informatique ou dans une discipline technique connexe (S3 ou équivalent)
- Expérience en programmation Python acquise dans le cadre de cours, de projets personnels, de stages ou d'expériences professionnelles antérieures
- Compréhension des fondamentaux du développement logiciel, notamment les structures de données, la programmation orientée objet, les tests et le débogage
- Familiarité avec Git ou un autre système de contrôle de version
- Intérêt pour l'automatisation logicielle, les outils internes, le DevOps, l'ingénierie des systèmes ou les technologies d'infrastructure
- Solides compétences analytiques et en résolution de problèmes
- Capacité à apprendre rapidement de nouvelles technologies et à travailler en collaboration dans un environnement technique
- Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale, en français et en anglais

This is a 4-month co-op position (with the possibility of extension to 8 months) based in Montreal, for the Winter 2026–2027 term. We are looking for students in the final stages of their program (S3 or equivalent). The student will gain hands-on software development experience in a professional engineering environment, working alongside experienced developers and systems engineers on real-world projects. The role will have a strong emphasis on Python development and automation, including identifying manual or repetitive processes that can be streamlined through software.

## Responsibilities

- Develop, test, debug, and maintain Python scripts, applications, and automation tools
- Design and improve automated workflows that reduce manual engineering and operational tasks
- Build internal tools and utilities to support provisioning, configuration, monitoring, testing, and system management
- Work with APIs, structured data, and existing software systems to integrate and automate processes
- Assist with developing and maintaining software used to support Exegy's high-performance technology platforms
- Troubleshoot software issues and contribute to root-cause analysis and technical problem solving
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following established software development practices
- Develop unit tests and participate in code reviews to improve software quality and reliability
- Maintain technical documentation for applications, automation scripts, workflows, and engineering processes
- Collaborate with software developers, systems engineers, and other technical teams to understand requirements and translate them into practical software solutions
- Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and approaches that could improve automation and engineering efficiency
- Participate in team meetings, technical discussions, and the broader software development lifecycle

Our Ideal Candidate

- Nearing the end of a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (S3 or equivalent)
- Experience programming in Python through coursework, personal projects, internships, or previous work experience
- Understanding of software development fundamentals, including data structures, object-oriented programming, testing, and debugging
- Familiarity with Git or another source-control system
- Interest in software automation, internal tooling, DevOps, systems engineering, or infrastructure technologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work collaboratively in a technical team environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
