Elon's companies have a high-intensity and results-oriented culture, and at Silver we expect no less from former xAI employees. This is an opportunity for mission-driven, high-energy talent with the desire to make an impact and drive results, and participate meaningfully in the formation of an ambitious company - and reap the corresponding rewards. About [Standard Economics](https://standardeconomics.com) Standard Economics builds Uno, a mobile app that gives people in emerging markets a dollar-backed account, a card, credit, and everyday payments. We are live in Mexico and the Philippines and preparing to launch our next market. We are a small team: everyone works close to the data, close to users, and close to the product. ## The Role You will own one market end to end: understand it through data, adapt the product to it, keep it healthy and compliant, and grow it. This is a builder-operator role that combines product management, growth, and business ownership. You are the person who turns what the data, the users, and the market are telling us into decisions. We want someone who thinks like an owner of the business, not just an operator of a checklist: someone who sees where the market can go, what it will take to get there, and who we need to work with to make it happen. ## What you will own The market's performance. Know your numbers cold: signups, activation, retention, credit usage, acquisition cost. You can pull and interpret data yourself, present the market read to leadership, and decide where to focus next. Growth. Find and exploit the growth levers for your market: referral mechanics, incentives, lifecycle comms, local channels, and the product changes that unlock them. Run experiments and write honest readouts. Product adaptation. Propose and spec market-specific changes: flows, features, incentives, and the local language in everything users see. Work directly with engineering to ship, then measure whether it worked. Partnerships. Own the local partner landscape: payment rails, card programs, identity-verification providers, and the distribution or merchant partnerships that can accelerate the market. Manage existing relationships and identify new ones. Compliance and regulatory posture. Keep the product compliant in your market: regulatory wording and claims in user-facing content, KYC and fraud controls, and refund decisions. Flag regulatory risks early and work with counsel and central teams on how we operate locally. Product health. Stay close to what users are experiencing, catch issues early, and drive them to resolution with engineering. Support quality and user trust are outcomes you own, even if you are not the one answering tickets. ## Who You Are - Operational experience in tech (fintech, marketplaces, delivery, or similar), ideally owning outcomes, not just processes - Strong bias to action — you'd rather launch something imperfect this week than something polished next quarter - Track record owning growth: channels, funnels, experiments, with measurable results - Sharp with data: comfortable querying (SQL), reading dashboards, turning numbers into decisions - Heavy daily AI tooling user — it's multiplied your output - Fluent Spanish and English - Based in Argentina ## Nice to Have - Fintech/payments experience: regulators (BCRA, CNV), payment rails, wallets, lending - Prior experience launching new products or markets (0→1) - Background at LatAm operators (DiDi, Rappi, Nu, Mercado Pago, Ualá, etc.) ## What's In It For You - Real ownership: you're not executing someone else's playbook — you're writing it - Ground-floor role: be the founding presence for the company in Argentina, with a path to build and lead the team that follows - Direct line to SF: frequent travel to headquarters, close collaboration with product and engineering The Interview Process - Silver screening Interview - Client Screening Interview - Client Behavioral Interview - Paid trial period working on the actual market launch ## About Silver.dev ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Silver.dev is a talent agency that connects venture-backed startups with vetted, interview-ready software engineers from Latin America. - **Entity Type**: Private (bootstrapped/founder-funded) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, United States - **Founded**: 2023 - **Founders**: Gabriel (last name not publicly disclosed; founder & owner is a former Staff Engineer with hiring manager experience) ## Core Business - Primary industry: Staffing and Recruiting (specialized in software engineering talent). - Target customers: B2B; primarily venture-backed startups (half of clients are Y Combinator companies) and product-focused tech companies. - Mission/purpose: To help startups hire the right engineers without wasting weeks on interviews that go nowhere, by providing a no-BS, founder-led recruiting partner. ## Products & Services - **Direct Hiring**: Full-time, permanent placement of interview-ready engineers who are vetted by engineers and integrated directly into the client’s team. - **RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing)**: A flexible, dedicated hiring partner model that gives clients constant access to vetted candidates, designed for rapid scaling. - **Payroll & Employer of Record (EOR)**: Handles contracts, onboarding, and compliance for hiring across Latin America, allowing clients to focus on growth. - **Staffing**: Contract placement of talent under Silver.dev’s payroll, removing compliance overhead for the client. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not disclosed. - **Key Metric**: 11 employees (up 62.5% year-over-year); 7,440 LinkedIn followers; 20,814 monthly website visits (up 35.2% year-over-year). - **Notable Investors/Partners**: None publicly listed (clients include Y Combinator and Initialized Capital portfolio companies). - **Growth Signals**: +62.5% headcount growth YoY; traffic growing +35.2% YoY; high client satisfaction (4.9/8 reviews on Clutch); average nine-day sprint from first call to signed offer for senior roles. ## Competitive Advantages - **Founder-led**: Run by a former Staff Engineer with hands-on hiring management experience, ensuring deep understanding of product-grade engineering needs. - **Engineer-vetted pipeline**: All candidates are screened by experienced engineers, not generic recruiters. - **Outcome-based pricing**: Clients pay only when a candidate signs, removing financial risk. - **Speed & quality**: Roles are filled in an average of nine days, with candidates who are truly interview-ready and culturally aligned with startups. - **LatAm focus**: Taps into a high-quality, cost-effective talent pool across Latin America, handling compliance and payroll. ## Strategic Focus - Continue to serve venture-backed startups, especially YC companies, by scaling the vetted talent pipeline. - Deepen services to include RPO and EOR, making it easier for US startups to hire compliantly across LatAm. - Expand the network of high-ownership, ambitious engineers prepared for startup environments. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Client reviews highlight a proactive, transparent, and collaborative team that “feels like an extension of the startup DNA.” High employee satisfaction with strong communication and adaptive problem-solving. - **Remote/Hybrid**: The company has offices in San Francisco and Buenos Aires, but job postings are predominantly remote.
