Unless a specific job description explicitly states otherwise, all roles are on-site five days per week at one of our offices in McLean, VA; Mountain View, CA; New York City, NY; or Tampa, FL. At ID.me, we embrace the thoughtful use of AI tools in our daily work and there are even occasions where we leverage AI in our hiring process. However, during the interview process, we want to understand your individual skills and experiences. Therefore, we have guidelines on how AI can be appropriately used during your application and interviews which can be found [here](https://insider.id.me/candidate-ai-use-in-interviewing/). ## Role Overview As a Product Intern, you'll get hands-on ownership of a real feature or research problem on a platform team, working closely with a PM mentor to translate it from idea to shipped (or demoed) outcome. This internship pushes you beyond typical intern scope: you'll scope your own problem, make trade-off calls, and build the technical and communication fluency early-career PMs need, with mentorship and guardrails from senior platform PMs. This role is based out of our Mountain View, CA office, and requires full-time in-office attendance. ## Responsibilities - Feature Ownership: Take a defined problem area and turn it into a scoped proposal, prototype, or shipped feature, with mentorship from your PM lead. - Roadmap Support: Break roadmap priorities down into concrete requirements; track and report on execution against them. - Cross-Functional Partnership: Work directly with engineering, design, and data partners to see how product decisions get made and translated into shipped work. - AI-Native Building: Use modern AI coding tools to prototype, validate, or extend your own functional project, and bring that fluency into your internship work. - Communication: Present your work, findings, and trade-offs to the team, the core skill of professional product management. ## Qualifications - Graduating in 2028 or beyond. - Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Demonstrated hands-on experience with modern AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or similar) through an active personal project. - Present a personal AI project you are currently developing that is functional and executable (i.e., it runs successfully). - The project should reflect sustained effort over time. - Showcase meaningful functionality, while it does not need to be fully polished, it should solve a real problem or perform a clearly defined task. - Basic familiarity with APIs and data concepts, with eagerness to build technical fluency quickly. - Strong communicator, comfortable presenting work and taking feedback from a team. - Self-directed: comfortable scoping and driving your own work with guidance rather than exhaustive specification. ## What We Offer - Intern Schedule: 12 weeks, 40 hours per week, onsite - Competitive Compensation: $55/h–$65/h base hourly rate - Start dates for this internship are May & June of 2027 - ID.me may provide a housing stipend payment to eligible students selected for the 2027 Intern Program. ## What You'll Gain - Direct mentorship from an experienced product team - Practical experience across product, engineering, design, and data - Meaningful work that can strengthen a future career in product management, consulting, or entrepreneurship - Opportunities to build a professional network within Silicon Valley's startup and business community The annual base salary listed does not include a company bonus, incentive for sales roles, equity and benefits which will be determined based on experience, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location and role. ID.me offers comprehensive medical, dental, vision, health savings account, flexible spending accounts (medical, limited purpose, dependent care, commuter benefit accounts), basic and voluntary life and AD&D insurance, 401(k) with company match, parental leave, ability to participate in unlimited paid time off subject to the terms and conditions of the PTO policy, including 8 company wide holidays, short and long-term disability insurance, accident and critical illness insurance, referral bonus policy, employee assistance program, pet insurance, travel assistant program, wellbeing and childcare discounts, benefit advocates, and a learning and development benefit. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on qualifications, professional experiences, skills, education, relevant training, geographic location, and other job related factors.
