Our mission: make data-driven, preventative care accessible to more people, before symptoms appear. In a single, non-invasive visit under an hour, proprietary technology and direct clinical care combine to deliver personalised, actionable insights. It's a team that thinks in 10x, not 10%. Every role here plays a part in building a world where prevention is the norm, and where your work genuinely helps people live longer, healthier lives. ## About the role As a System Verification Engineer, Test Automation, you sit at the boundary between our hardware devices and our software. You build the test infrastructure that automates verification of software updates on our instruments, so new software ships quickly and with high confidence in its safety, performance and compliance. You define the test methods for system-level verification, develop the system tests those methods call for, and then automate them. You'll join the Verification & Validation team, which supports a wide regulated product portfolio spanning hardware medical devices (instruments), SaMD and health software. The team is small, growing and fast-moving, with real room to shape engineering quality, verification strategy, and how products are built as we scale. ## What you'll do - Design, implement and maintain automated test frameworks and test rigs that exercise firmware and embedded software against the device hardware, sensors and instruments they control, and integrate them into the development and release pipelines. - Build the tooling and pipelines that verify software updates on our instruments automatically, so new software deploys fast and with high confidence. - Define test methods and acceptance criteria for system-level verification of our medical devices. - Plan and execute verification activities, system and regression tests, and produce audit-ready reports. - Contribute to traceability matrices, V&V plans and design reviews. - Collaborate closely with Firmware, Electronics, Algorithms, Software, QA/RA and Manufacturing Engineering to make requirements testable and to debug failures across hardware, firmware and software boundaries. - Ensure verification activities comply with Neko's SOPs and applicable regulatory standards (IEC 62304, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, FDA 21 CFR Part 820, EU MDR). - Continuously improve verification processes, infrastructure and tooling, both in scope (more devices, more coverage) and in quality (faster feedback, less flakiness, clearer reports). ## About you Must-have: - Automation you built yourself: 5+ years in system-level test and verification of complex hardware-software products, with a track record of developing tests and building test frameworks, test rigs including hardware-in-the-loop and physical stimulus setups, instrument control and fixtures, and integrating them into CI and release pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, Jenkins or equivalent). - Strong hands-on Python, for test automation, test framework development, tooling and data analysis. - Enough embedded depth to work at the boundary: working knowledge of embedded systems and common protocols (UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, USB, Ethernet), and C and C++ at a level that lets you understand and instrument the firmware under test. - Debugging across the stack: comfort debugging across hardware, firmware and software with oscilloscopes, JTAG/SWD debuggers and protocol sniffers. - From requirements to test methods: turning requirements and product specifications into test methods, verification strategies and acceptance criteria. - A degree in a relevant technical field: Electrical, Embedded, Software or Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, Physics or similar. Nice to have: - Verification that stands up in an audit. Experience from a regulated development process, and documentation habits that produce records an auditor can follow, in clear and structured English. Medical devices, automotive, robotics, industrial automation or another regulated hardware industry all count. - Owning a test automation platform shared by more than one team or product line. - Verifying devices that combine optics, sensors, custom electronics and embedded software. - Setting up reporting and dashboarding for continuous verification (results, coverage, traceability) inside build pipelines. - Shell scripting (Bash) and infrastructure-as-code / YAML pipeline definitions. - Contributing to FDA submissions, EU MDR technical files or Notified Body audits. ## Why this role matters Neko's device portfolio is growing faster than manual verification can scale. As a System Verification Engineer, Test Automation you build the automated verification backbone that lets our instruments be updated safely, quickly and with confidence, across every clinic and every country we operate in. ## About Neko Health ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Neko Health is a healthcare technology company that has engineered a proprietary, data-driven preventive health scan to detect early signs of disease in otherwise healthy individuals. - **Entity Type**: Private (Funding Stage: Series A) - **Headquarters**: Stockholm, Sweden - **Founded**: 2018 - **Founders**: Daniel Ek (Co-founder, also founder/CEO of Spotify) and Hjalmar Nilsonne (Co-founder) ## Core Business - Primary industry/industries: Healthcare Technology, Preventive Medicine, Clinical Diagnostics - Target customers: B2C – Health-conscious individuals; B2B Potential – Self-insured employers - Mission or purpose statement: “To provide healthcare that’s proactive instead of reactive – so that people can live longer, healthier lives.” ## Products & Services - **[The Neko Health Scan]**: A 60-minute, full-body health check that captures millions of data points across the skin, heart, blood, and circulation using four proprietary devices (Derma, Spectrum, Echo, and Neko Lens). Includes an unrushed consultation with a doctor where results are discussed immediately. The scan is priced at approximately 2750kr (~$260) in Sweden and is designed for asymptomatic, healthy individuals looking for prevention. ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed (as of mid-2026). - **Key Metric**: Total Funding – **$325.1M** (one prior funding round). - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Backed by “investors who have built and scaled some of the most ambitious technology companies of the last two decades” (individual names not publicly listed on career page). The company has strong ties to the tech and startup ecosystem. - **Growth Signals**: Over 1,000 employees (more than half in clinical roles). Aggressive expansion with active clinic locations in London, Manchester, Birmingham, Stockholm, and plans for more. Job postings have increased +344.4% year-over-year (as of mid-2026), indicating rapid scaling. ## Competitive Advantages - **Proprietary Hardware**: All four scanning devices are designed, engineered, and assembled in-house in Stockholm, creating a hard-to-replicate technological moat. - **Integrated Clinical Model**: Unlike traditional clinics or digital health apps, Neko combines its proprietary hardware with on-site doctors, clinical researchers, and data science under one roof with a low patient volume per doctor ( ~9 members/day vs. 30+ in standard care). This enables a focus on prevention, not just treatment. - **Data Moat**: The system captures millions of structured data points per scan, allowing for peer benchmarking and longitudinal tracking over years, creating a powerful, network-effect dataset for preventive health insights. - **Leadership**: Co-founded by Daniel Ek (Spotify) and Hjalmar Nilsonne. ## Strategic Focus - **Scaling the Scan Room**: Neko is actively testing a second-generation modular scan room platform designed to capture more signals and scale to new locations. - **Global Expansion**: Opening new clinics across the UK and Europe, with a clear intent to make the service more accessible. - **Clinical Research & Governance**: Continued focus on validating their devices with clinical studies and building a clinical leadership team (including ex-NHS and Amazon Health executives) to establish preventive care as a formal clinical discipline. ## Why Work Here - **Mission-Driven**: The company was founded to solve the fundamental problem of late-stage diagnosis by focusing on prevention. The work is presented as having a direct, positive impact on human longevity. - **Culture & Engineering**: The company actively showcases a deep engineering culture where “clinical insight can become a hardware iteration overnight.” Clinicians and engineers share the same floor, fostering rapid iteration and innovation. - **Compensation & Benefits**: Salaries are benchmarked via market research.
