Today, bandwidth is the most in-demand asset in the world, but its buy/sell process is highly fragmented and inefficiently priced. Share brings the supply and demand together by building distributed routing nodes and connecting carriers, ISPs, data centers, and enterprise buyers through a neutral exchange, turning bandwidth into a liquid, tradeable resource. We're building the category-defining marketplace for how bandwidth gets bought, sold, and delivered globally. ## The Role Share's physical network runs on real infrastructure: servers, virtualization, firewalls, and the operating systems underneath everything the company runs, cloud-native or not. We're looking for a senior Systems Engineer to own that foundation, the traditional infrastructure layer that everything else still depends on, hardened and run the way a carrier-grade network demands. This is the seat for someone who's spent years running production Linux, virtualized infrastructure, and the security perimeter around it at real scale (most likely inside a telco, ISP, or carrier-grade network operator) and who's now bringing that discipline into a more modern, cloud-first stack. Our Ideal Candidate - 7+ years of professional systems engineering experience, ideally including time inside a telco, ISP, or carrier-grade network operator. - Deep, production Linux administration: you've built, hardened, and kept Linux systems running at real scale, not just deployed them from a template. - Real virtualization depth: VMware, KVM, Hyper-V or similar, you're just as comfortable at the VM layer as you are one layer up. - Genuine security ownership: perimeter security, firewalls, network segmentation, VPNs, intrusion detection. You've designed and defended a real security boundary, not just followed a checklist. - Solid networking fundamentals: routing, switching, VLANs, DNS, load balancing, enough to hold your own with our network team, even if carrier-scale BGP isn't your specialty. - Working knowledge of at least one hyperscaler (AWS, GCP, or Azure), you don't need to be cloud-native yet, but you're comfortable operating there. - Kubernetes exposure. - AI-native in your workflow: you've built with these tools, not just used them, and can show the leverage you've gained. - You ship, and you drive. Handed an infrastructure or security problem, you scope it, build it, own it through production, and use what you've learned to push the department forward. ## Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary and meaningful equity in a mission-driven, investor-backed company. A high-ownership environment with a steep but well-supported learning curve, and a team that writes things down. ## About Share ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Share is building Africa's largest open-access internet network by coordinating fragmented telecom infrastructure (subsea cables, fiber, data centers) into a single interoperable ecosystem for ISPs, hyperscalers, and AI companies. - **Entity Type**: Private (Venture-backed; Seed round announced April 2026) - **Headquarters**: New York, United States (with operations in Kenya, Spain, Poland, and France) - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Omar Pederzoli (Co-Founder), Jose Muñoz Aycart (Co-Founder), Luis Munoz Aycart (Co-Founder) ## Core Business - **Primary Industry**: Telecommunications / Internet Infrastructure - **Target Customers**: B2B — ISPs (Internet Service Providers), hyperscalers, AI companies, and network operators across Africa - **Mission**: To connect the next billion people to the internet by making fragmented infrastructure work as one network — treating connectivity as a human right. ## Products & Services - **Open-Access Network Platform**: A coordination layer that aggregates underutilized telecom infrastructure (fiber, subsea cables, data centers) and provides ISPs with scalable backhaul capacity, management tools, and access to capital. - **Bandwidth Marketplace**: Acts as a financial and operational layer, enabling ISPs to offer high-speed (up to 1 Gbps) internet plans without upfront capacity costs. - **Funding & Payments**: Provides network operators with access to capital and consolidated payment processing (receiving all payments in one place). ## Market Standing - **Valuation/Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total Funding — Seed round announced April 2026 (amount undisclosed). Currently 11 employees but active job postings for 35 roles, indicating aggressive scaling. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Greenfield Capital (lead), Kosmos Ventures, Generative Ventures, Zee Prime Capital, and strategic angels. - **Growth Signals**: 16 providers, 6,000+ km of fiber, 10 data centers, 8M+ people reached across East Africa. In May 2026, ISPs on Share's network began offering 1 Gbps plans without raising costs — 100x speed increases at same price points. 35 active job openings despite only 11 current employees. ## Competitive Advantages - **Coordination Moat**: Rather than building new infrastructure, Share solves the harder problem of making existing (fragmented) infrastructure work together — a financial and operational layer that is difficult to replicate. - **First-Mover in Open-Access Model for Africa**: No other company is aggregating disparate telecom assets into a single marketplace at this scale on the continent. - **Speed-to-Cost Disruption**: Delivering 100x faster internet to end users without increasing ISP costs, fundamentally changing the economics of African connectivity. - **Strong Investor Backing**: Led by Greenfield Capital, with deep-tech/crypto-native investors (Zee Prime, Generative Ventures) suggesting a novel financial/blockchain approach to infrastructure coordination. - **Decentralized / Community-Owned Architecture**: Branded as "everyone's internet" with a community-owned ethos, differentiating from traditional telco models. ## Strategic Focus - **Scaling the Network**: Expanding coverage across East Africa and beyond, connecting more providers and more people. - **Hiring Deeply Technical Talent**: Currently recruiting aggressively for network engineers, systems engineers, and software engineers — VP of Network Engineering is a priority hire. - **Building the Financial Layer**: Developing the payment and capital access infrastructure that makes the coordination model work at scale. - **Employer Brand & Talent Attraction**: Hiring their first Founding Recruiter indicates a deliberate effort to build a strong talent brand and scalable recruiting operation. ## Why Work Here - **Remote-First Culture**: Work from anywhere you do your best thinking; team spans London, Cape Town, Nairobi, France, Spain, and Poland. - **Founder-Led Environment**: Direct partnership with founders on hiring philosophy, compensation strategy, and company direction — high ownership, low bureaucracy. - **Meaningful Equity**: Early-stage equity with standard vesting, competitive salary. - **Massive Impact**: Connecting the next billion people to the internet in Africa — work that literally changes lives at continental scale. - **Engineering-Heavy Culture**: 50% of current staff are technical (network, systems, software engineering). Tech stack includes Kubernetes, Terraform, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, React, TypeScript, Python, Docker, Prometheus, Grafana, and more. - **AI-Ready Environment**: Comfort with AI-assisted tools and automation workflows is valued. - **High-Growth Trajectory**: 35 open roles vs 11 current employees signals hypergrowth — early employees will define the company's culture and processes. ## Sources 1.
