Below, you’ll find what this role is all about—the impact you’ll drive, the challenges you’ll tackle, and what it takes to thrive at Addi. If you’re ready to be part of something big, keep reading. What’s the mission you’ll drive Lead Addi's tax function across Colombia, US, and Cayman Islands as the company completes its transition to Compañía de Financiamiento y se posiciona para IPO. Esta persona es el dueño interno del ETR consolidado, dirige (no sigue) a EY y KPMG, y convierte el área de impuestos en una ventaja competitiva — con cumplimiento impecable, optimización cuantificada y automatización real. ## What you will do - Design and operate a multi-jurisdiction compliance calendar (VAT, ICA, WHT, CIT, US, Cayman) where EY and KPMG execute against high-quality inputs — not the other way around. - Own end-to-end annual filings with at least 3 depuration items quantified and defended before submission. Advisors confirm positions — they don't discover them. - Take full ownership of all tax-related close inputs: current tax accruals, deferred tax movements, UTP tracking, and NetSuite reconciliations. - Develop the consolidated ETR model across Colombia, US, and Cayman — including WHT leakage at each layer. This is the most critical outcome for IPO readiness. - Deliver real results — filed positions, signed agreements, approved policies. Not advisory decks. Day-1 backlog already scoped: Art. 107 ET board policies, WHT Category B defense, IC debt repayment cadence, CIT depuration 2025, Cayman economic substance. - Lead tax's contribution to Addi's Finance AI Champions program. AI proposes — Tax Manager authorizes and signs. ## What we’re looking for Colombian Tax Expertise — Operational & Corporate - Builds filing positions and workpapers that hold up under audit scrutiny without relying on advisors to find the gaps. - Has navigated DIAN audits, formal requerimientos, or discrepancy notices with documented, defensible responses. - Identifies depuration opportunities proactively — not reactively after the return is filed. Multi-Jurisdiction Ownership - Maintains a consolidated ETR view across entities, identifying WHT leakage and structuring inefficiencies at each layer. - Coordinates distributed data owners (Accounting, Treasury, Legal) to ensure advisors always receive complete, on-time inputs. - Resolves technical disagreements with external counsel from a position of knowledge, not deference. Tax Accounting & Close Partnership - Maintains a DTA/DTL model that reflects rate changes, timing differences, and provisioning methodology with zero unexplained variances. - Owns tax balance sheet accounts at quarter-end — reconciled, documented, and audit-ready. - Proactively flags uncertain tax positions (UTPs) and quantifies exposure before close, not after. Operational Excellence — Processes That Scale - Builds compliance trackers with clear owners, data sources, cutoffs, and evidence storage — fully documented and handover-ready. - Reduces advisor turnaround time by improving input quality upstream, not by following up downstream. - Creates recurring checklists and review gates that catch errors before filing, not after. Strategic Optimization — Quantified & Executed - Translates tax opportunities into P&L and cash flow impact that CFO and Finance can act on. - Drives optimization projects end-to-end: from diagnosis and structuring to filing, documentation, and monitoring. - Maintains a live optimization backlog prioritized by impact and execution complexity. Cross-Functional Communication & Upward Influence - Communicates tax risk and opportunity in business terms — not technical jargon — enabling faster decisions across teams. - Proactively educates internal partners (Procurement, Payroll, Product) on tax implications before they create compliance issues. - Presents confidently to senior leadership and regulators, with positions that are defensible, clear, and well-documented. - Conversational English level required. Why join us? - Work on a problem that truly matters – We are redefining how people shop, pay, and bank in Colombia, breaking down financial barriers and empowering millions. Your work will directly impact customers' lives by creating more accessible, seamless, and fair financial services. - Be part of something big from the ground up – This is your chance to help shape a company, influencing everything from our technology and strategy to our culture and values. You won’t just be an employee—you’ll be an owner - Unparalleled growth opportunity – The market we’re tackling is massive, and we’re growing faster than almost any fintech lender at our stage. If you’re looking for a high-impact role in a company that’s scaling fast, this is it. - Join a world-class team – Work alongside top-tier talent from around the world, in an environment where excellence, ownership, and collaboration are at the core of everything we do. We care deeply about what we build and how we build it—and we want you to be a part of it. - Competitive compensation & meaningful ownership – We believe in rewarding our talent. You’ll receive a generous salary, equity in the company, and benefits that go beyond the basics to support your growth. How the hiring process looks like We believe in a fast, transparent, and engaging hiring experience that allows both you and us to determine if there's a great fit. Here’s what our process looks like: - Step 1: People Interview (30 min) A conversation with a recruiter or hiring manager to get to know you, your experience, and what you're looking for. We’ll also share more about Addi, our culture, and the role. - Step 2: Initial Interview (60 min) You'll walk through your hands-on experience in Colombian tax — VAT, WHT, ICA, CIT, and DIAN interactions. Come with specific examples: filings you owned end-to-end, positions you defended, and processes you built from scratch. We'll also explore how you collaborate cross-functionally with Accounting, Legal, and Finance. Own your outcomes — not just what the advisor did. - Step 3: Technical Interview (60 min) You'll go deep on tax accounting fundamentals — DTA/DTL modeling, month-end accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and how you've partnered with Accounting teams to hit close deadlines. Our Finance Controller will assess your controls mindset and your ability to deliver clean, audit-ready inputs consistently, not just when it's convenient. - Step 4: Deep Dive Interview (30 min) A focused conversation with our CFO to evaluate your strategic thinking — how you identify tax optimization opportunities, build the business case, and drive execution. - Step 5: Case Study (3-5 Days) You'll receive a real-world challenge: design a monthly tax compliance calendar for a multi-jurisdiction fintech, identify the top operational risks, and propose 2–3 optimization initiatives with quantified business impact. This is your opportunity to show how you think, prioritize, and structure a tax function built to scale. - Step 5: Co-Founder Interview If there’s a strong match, you’ll have a final conversation with our Founder to align on expectations, cultural fit and ensure mutual excitement. From there, we’ll move quickly to an offer and discuss next steps. We value efficiency and respect for your time, so we aim to complete the process as quickly as possible. Our goal is to make this experience insightful and exciting for you, just as much as it is for us. Regardless of the outcome, we are committed to always providing feedback, ensuring that you walk away with valuable insights from your experience with us. ## About Addi ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Addi provides a buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform that enables consumers in Latin America to finance purchases at partner stores through flexible installment loans. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series C) - **Headquarters**: Bogotá, Colombia - **Founded**: 2018 - **Founders**: Santiago Suárez and Daniel Vallejo ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Fintech – Consumer Finance, Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL), Point-of-Sale Financing - **Target customers**: B2C (consumers purchasing from partner merchants) and B2B (merchant partners seeking to increase conversion and average order value); primarily focused on Latin America - **Mission or purpose statement**: “We are building the best digital purchase experience in Latin America through technology” (from careers page) ## Products & Services - **BNPL Platform**: A digital financing solution that allows consumers to split purchases into interest-bearing or zero-interest installments at checkout.
