We are training and scaling security AI agents to discover zero-day vulnerabilities across large customer codebases and popular open source software. Our founding team brings deep expertise in data, infrastructure, security and AI, with leaders from DeepMind, Databricks, Square, and Faire. We're looking for thoughtful, driven people excited to work at the intersection of AI, Security, and Infrastructure. ## About the Role We're looking for our first Technical Account Manager to build and scale the customer experience at depthfirst. As a Technical Account Manager, you'll own the technical customer relationship throughout the post-sales journey, serving as a trusted advisor from onboarding and implementation through adoption and expansion. You'll partner closely with customer security, engineering, and platform teams to drive successful deployments, accelerate time to value, increase product adoption, resolve complex technical challenges, and ensure customers achieve measurable security outcomes. This is a highly cross-functional role sitting at the intersection of customer success, solutions engineering, product, and engineering. You'll influence product direction through customer feedback while helping some of the world's most sophisticated engineering organizations integrate AI into their security workflows. If you enjoy solving complex technical problems, building trusted customer relationships, and working at the cutting edge of AI infrastructure and cybersecurity, we'd love to meet you. ## What You'll Do - Own the technical success of a portfolio of strategic enterprise customers. - Guide customers through onboarding, implementation, integrations, and production deployments. - Become a trusted advisor to engineering leaders, security teams, and platform organizations. - Troubleshoot complex technical issues across cloud infrastructure, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, source control systems, and application security tooling. - Partner with Solutions Engineering on customer handoffs and expansion opportunities. - Collaborate with Product and Engineering to prioritize customer feedback, influence roadmap decisions, and advocate for customer needs. - Develop best practices, technical documentation, deployment guides, and enablement resources. - Monitor customer health and proactively identify opportunities to increase adoption and value. - Lead technical reviews, architecture discussions, and executive business reviews with customers. - Help build the systems, playbooks, and processes that will scale the Technical Account Management function. ## What We're Looking For - 5+ years in Technical Account Management, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success Engineering, Sales Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role. - Strong technical background with experience supporting enterprise software or developer infrastructure products. - Experience working with APIs, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development workflows. - Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and communicate effectively with both engineers and executive stakeholders. - Excellent project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customer engagements simultaneously. - Comfortable working in ambiguity and building processes from the ground up. - Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. ## Nice to Have - Experience with application security, DevSecOps, vulnerability management, or cloud security. - Familiarity with AI/LLM products or developer tooling. - Experience supporting highly technical enterprise customers. - Previous experience at a high-growth startup. - Basic scripting experience (Python, Bash, or similar). What Makes Someone Successful - Customers trust you as a technical partner rather than just a vendor. - You proactively identify risks before they become problems. - You translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable guidance. - You thrive in fast-moving environments where ownership is expected. - You're energized by helping customers adopt transformative technology. ## What We Offer - Competitive salary with meaningful equity - Health, vision, and dental insurance - Office lunch and dinner (SF office) - Ownership and significant room to grow as the company scales —- depthfirst is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, age, genetic information, veteran status, marital status, pregnancy or related condition, or any other basis protected by law. Backed by leading investors in AI, security, and software. - **Growth Signals**: 33 employees (366.7% YoY growth); 11 active job postings; claims 8x more true positives and 95% fewer false positives vs. leading tools; 90% of fixes accepted by developers; $5M in platform credits offered to open source maintainers via the Open Defense Initiative. ## Competitive Advantages - **AI-native context-aware reasoning** – The platform understands code, business logic, and infrastructure to find complex vulnerabilities (including business logic flaws and chained exploits) that siloed tools miss. - **Extremely low false positives and high fix acceptance** – 95% false positive reduction and 90% developer-accepted fixes create trust and productivity. - **Founding team** – Built security at Cash App/Faire, infrastructure at AWS/Databricks, and AI research at Google DeepMind (contributions to Gemini, AlphaDev, Nature publications). - **Continuous autonomous verification** – After each fix, the same attack is replayed in the running application; vulnerabilities are only closed when exploitation fails, not when code changes. ## Strategic Focus - Advancing AI agents for security through reinforcement learning (training vulnerability discovery agents, e.g., dfs-mini1 model). - Scaling enterprise adoption and expanding the Open Defense Initiative to secure widely deployed open source projects. - Building a research-driven applied AI lab focused on software security. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: Positioned as an "applied AI lab" at the frontier of security and AI research. Team members come from top companies like Databricks, Meta, Google DeepMind, Faire, and Notion. - **Work policy**: On-site in San Francisco (multiple offices, including 250 Montgomery St and 1 Sutter St). - **Open roles**: 11 positions across Engineering (Backend, Product, Security, Research), Sales (Account Executive, SDR, Solutions Engineer), Product Design, and Business Operations. - **Notable perks**: Not explicitly detailed but typical for well-funded Series B startups; equity, competitive compensation, and the chance to work on cutting-edge autonomous security in a rapidly growing team. ## Sources 1.
