We do this with our unique VIO™ technology, the only QPU architecture that breaks the hardware barriers that have held quantum computing back, unlocking the path to MegaQubit quantum processors. With VIO, we are paving the way for the hyper-scale quantum computers that will change the world. And delivering on that vision demands people who don’t shy away from tackling the hardest challenges of our time. That’s where you come in! Join us as a Technical Program Manager in our new Project Management Office (PMO), reporting to the PMO Lead. You will own day-to-day program management for one to two development programs, keeping schedules, responsibilities and risks visible across development and production departments. Working in a highly technical, fast-moving environment, you will build the habits and practice of program discipline that the whole company will adopt as the PMO scales. ## What you'll be doing - Ownership and responsibility - Own top level execution and delivery of assigned programs. - Partner with project and discipline leads on cross-department programs to ensure execution on schedule and within budget. - Manage the day-to-day execution of the assigned programs including handoffs across departments. - Lead the program-management activities for your assigned programs: schedule build, baselining, gate reviews, etc. - Manage uncertainty and risk - Identify risks and bottlenecks early - Plan for potential failure modes and contingencies - Escalate risks and blockers to the relevant stakeholders promptly. - Support growth and development of the team - Mentor junior program managers in program execution and collaborative leadership. - Support the PMO Lead in rolling out common language, product lifecycle, team rhythms for programs. - Support general program management training across the organization. ## Your Profile - Leadership experience - Over 6 years of experience, including more than 4 years managing the delivery of complex, research-intensive chip hardware projects in a program management role. - Lead programs coordinating across functions and departments. - Proven ability to work with highly specialised technical experts. - Experience working in a fast-moving start-up or scale-up environment balancing hands-on technical leadership with growing a team, as a strong plus. - Approach - Learn quickly in a highly technical, low-maturity field, without needing a deep technical background in quantum computing on day one. - Translate a long-term strategy into an execution plan for your program teams. - Strong analytical skills with the ability to make pragmatic, informed decisions under uncertainty. - Bring together world-class technical experts and project leads to execute on highly complex programs. - Technical Background - MSc, PhD, or equivalent experience in physics, electrical engineering, microwave/RF engineering, semiconductor technology, or a related field. - Understanding of the development lifecycle for chip-level technologies; experience with superconducting qubits or cryogenic systems is a strong plus. - Communication - Excellent communicator who can motivate teams, facilitate alignment, adept at communicating program management ideas to highly technical people. - Collaborate with stakeholders and colleagues across the organization - Product, Research and Development, Operations, Management team, etc. - Communicate fluently in English. Don't tick every box? Apply anyway! Research shows women often self-select out if they don't meet every requirement. Here's our take: nobody ticks every box. This is a description of our ideal candidate, not a filter. If most resonates and you're keen to learn the gaps, apply. We hire for trajectory, not perfection. What We Offer: At QuantWare, you’ll be part of a high-performing team of world-class experts in an ambitious, fast-moving environment. From day one, you’ll have the trust, tools, and support to do your best work. Here’s what you can expect: Competitive salary - A salary that reflects the impact and importance of the role (and of course 8% holiday allowance) Pension that’s built to last - A generous and future-proof pension plan that includes partner and dependent coverage. Flexibility built on trust - We focus on outcomes. Work flexibly, in a hybrid setup, with an open vacation policy that lets you manage your time Personal growth - We invest in your L&D, with a budget available to each team member, dependent on their individual ambitions, development needs, and performance A connected team - We make space to celebrate wins together, with team events, offsites, and spontaneous moments that bring us closer Diversity & Inclusion at QuantWare We’re an ambitious company, not only for our goals but also to become an even more diverse and inclusive team. We know great candidates don't always follow a straight path, and we value diverse experience, perspectives, and ways of thinking. We know this helps us make better decisions, drives more innovation, and strengthens our culture. As part of our recruitment process, candidates may be required to undergo pre-employment screening. ## About QuantWare ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Quantum computing hardware (superconducting quantum processors) - **Target customers**: B2B – quantum computer builders, research institutions, and enterprises building quantum systems; serves customers in 20+ countries across four continents - **Mission**: To accelerate the advent of the quantum computer by making the world’s most powerful quantum processors available to the entire industry via an open architecture ## Products & Services - **VIO™ QPU Architecture**: A superconducting qubit scaling platform designed to break through the QPU scaling wall and reach utility-scale quantum computing (>10,000 qubits by 2028, path to 1 million+ qubits) - **Custom Quantum Processors**: Fully designed and fabricated QPUs using VIO technology, sold to quantum system integrators - **Foundry Services**: Offers fabrication services for third-party quantum chip designs - **Packaging Services**: Advanced 3D packaging and integration for quantum processors ## Market Standing - **Valuation / Market Cap**: Not publicly disclosed (private company) - **Key Metric**: Total funding of $178M (reported on company website); world’s largest commercial QPU supplier by volume – has shipped more quantum processors than any other commercial supplier - **Notable Investors / Partners**: Intel Capital, In-Q-Tel; also backed by the Quantum Open Architecture ecosystem - **Growth Signals**: Active job postings grew 166.7% year-over-year (24 open roles as of mid-2025); powered the first quantum computer in over five major economies; serving 50+ customers across 20 countries ## Competitive Advantages - **Proven scale**: VIO is the only commercially available superconducting QPU architecture with a clear roadmap to >10,000 qubits and beyond - **Volume leadership**: Highest commercial QPU shipment volume globally, demonstrating manufacturing maturity - **Open architecture**: VIO is available to the entire industry (not locked to one system builder), fostering broad adoption and ecosystem lock-in - **Deep tech heritage**: Spinout from QuTech / TU Delft, one of the world’s leading quantum research institutes, with a team of domain experts ## Strategic Focus - Scaling VIO to utility-scale performance (10k qubits by 2028, million+ qubits on the roadmap) - Expanding foundry and packaging services to become the industrial backbone of the quantum supply chain - Growing international customer base and strengthening partnerships with governments and enterprises - Attracting top engineering and fabrication talent to accelerate processor development ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: “Winning before ego” mindset, autonomy, creativity, and outcome-focused flexibility.
