Town starts from who you are. It builds a persistent model of you (your voice, judgment, relationships, priorities) and does real work on your behalf across every tool you use: email, calendar, docs, Slack, and CRM. It doesn't wait to be prompted. It observes, learns, and acts. We most recently raised a $55M Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Forerunner Ventures and continued support from First Round Capital, Alt Capital, and Conviction, plus angels including Adam D'Angelo, Soleio Cuervo, and Immad Akhund. ## About the role We're hiring our first TechOps Engineer to keep the technology our team relies on reliable, secure, and easy to use. Reporting to the Head of Engineering, you'll own workplace technology across our San Francisco office, from networks and conference rooms to employee devices, access, and the vendors behind them. This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role that also owns day-to-day execution for our compliance and customer trust programs. You'll run recurring controls, coordinate audits and security reviews, and turn open requests into completed work. You'll partner with engineering, security, and legal on control design, policy, risk decisions, and customer commitments. ## What you'll do - Keep the office running. Own networking, Wi-Fi, conference rooms, and shared technology. Troubleshoot issues directly and coordinate vendors through resolution. - Own the employee technology lifecycle. Manage device procurement, inventory, setup, endpoint management, repairs, and secure offboarding. - Make access reliable and secure. Administer Google Workspace, Slack, 1Password, and workplace systems, including provisioning, access changes, reviews, and removal. - Drive vendors and workplace projects. Own IT vendor relationships, renewals, and procurement coordination, and deliver the technology portions of office moves and buildouts. - Run compliance operations. Operate the SOC 2 calendar and Vanta, collect evidence, coordinate audits, maintain recurring controls and vendor-risk reviews, and drive remediation to verified completion. - Support customer trust. Coordinate security questionnaires and enterprise reviews, keep trust materials and control documentation current, and work with internal owners on accurate answers and commitments. - Make recurring work easier. Build clear queues, inventories, and runbooks. Use integrations and automation to reduce manual work and keep priorities, deadlines, and ownership visible. You might thrive here if you... - Have experience across technical operations and workplace technology, with hands-on responsibility for compliance or GRC execution. - Know workplace technology firsthand. You've managed networks, Wi-Fi, conference rooms, endpoints, identity systems, and SaaS administration, including employee onboarding and offboarding. - Have supported SOC 2 or continuous compliance. You've operated controls, collected evidence, worked with auditors, and tracked remediation. - Can troubleshoot before escalating. You're comfortable with admin consoles, APIs, logs, device settings, and network tooling. - Write clearly and work well across teams. You can explain technical issues and compliance evidence to employees, engineers, auditors, customers, and vendors. - Take ownership and follow through. You prioritize independently, document decisions, verify outcomes, and use sound judgment about when to involve security, legal, or other decision-makers. - Enjoy hands-on work with people. You're willing to tackle the detailed work that keeps a team running and get energy from working together in person five days a week. Location In person in San Francisco's Financial District, five days a week. Everyone is here to do their best work and make this product a success. ## About Town.com, Inc. ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: An applied AI company building a proactive, persistent AI assistant that learns how you work and acts on your behalf across email, calendar, docs, Slack, and CRM. - **Entity Type**: Private (Series A) - **Headquarters**: San Francisco, California, USA - **Founded**: 2024 - **Founders**: Jean-Denis Greze (CEO, former CTO of Plaid) and Tony Vincent (CPO, former Director of Applied AI at Google) ## Core Business - **Primary industries**: Artificial Intelligence, Enterprise Software, Productivity - **Target customers**: B2B (SMB to mid-market teams looking to automate knowledge work) - **Mission**: "Make it easy for anyone to create and use software in their everyday work." — Town careers page ## Products & Services - **[Town AI]**: A SaaS assistant that builds a persistent model of a user’s voice, judgment, relationships, and priorities. It observes, learns, and acts without waiting for prompts — triaging inbox, managing schedules, running workflows, and generating drafts. Replaces general-purpose chatbots like ChatGPT and Claude for daily work. ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not publicly disclosed - **Key Metric**: Total funding of **$73M** (Seed $18M + Series A $55M) — some sources report $78.1M, likely including a smaller prior round or adjusted amount. - **Notable Investors/Partners**: Series A led by **Andreessen Horowitz** with participation from **Forerunner Ventures**, **First Round Capital**, **Alt Capital**, and **Conviction**. Seed led by **First Round Capital**. Angel investors include Adam D’Angelo, Soleio Cuervo, and Immad Akhund. - **Growth Signals**: Headcount grew **82.4% year-over-year** (LinkedIn, 2026). Currently **13–31 employees** depending on source. Early customers report replacing Claude, ChatGPT, and “OpenClaw” with Town because it “actually understands them.” The company was founded in 2024 and closed a $55M Series A in May 2026, signaling strong investor confidence. ## Competitive Advantages - **Proactive persistence**: Town builds a model of the user’s preferences and takes action without explicit prompting — a deeper “memory” than chat-only AIs. - **Deep tool integration**: Connects to email, calendar, Slack, CRM, and docs, acting across all of them. - **Founder pedigree**: CEO scaled Plaid from $10M to $300M+ ARR; CPO co-founded a company acquired by Google and another by Dropbox. - **Early traction**: Customers report preferring Town over leading competitors for daily work. ## Strategic Focus - Aggressively building out the product and team in 2026 (5 open roles across engineering, product, design, business operations, and marketing). - Scaling from early adopters to a broader SMB/mid-market audience. - Continuing to iterate on the “persistent AI assistant” paradigm. ## Why Work Here - **Culture**: “Action first. Chat second.” Principles include owning outcomes, making decisions with 70% information, and debating hard with ego aside. - **Work environment**: Fully in‑person, five days a week in San Francisco’s Financial District. Early‑stage (one of first ~20 teammates) means high impact and ownership. - **Compensation**: AI Product Engineer $225K–$300K, Staff Backend Engineer $250K–$300K, Business Operations $130K–$170K, Product Marketing $150K–$200K — all with competitive equity. - **Benefits**: Fully covered medical, dental & vision; unlimited PTO; free daily lunch; commuter benefits; parental leave; 401(k). - **Team**: Engineers and operators from Plaid, Apple, Facebook, Stripe, Lyft, Dropbox, CrowdStrike, HubSpot, Quora, and Asana. ## Sources 1.
