If you've felt that traditional healthcare pressures clinicians to churn volume and don't actually shape patient outcomes, Hera is for you. An older adult gets discharged from the hospital—you already know what happens. The family scrambles. Nobody talks to each other. Medications get confused. A fall happens. Another admission. The system wasn't designed for this moment. We started Hera because we felt it wasn't enough. Hera is dedicated care management in the community for older adults, covered by Medicare. Every family gets matched with a dedicated Hero (care manager) who has the tools, time, and autonomy to deliver ongoing support. You're the clinical entry point—the comprehensive assessment that sets the clinical foundation for real, ongoing intervention. ## The Role We're building the clinical infrastructure that makes great geriatric care exceptional. As a Clinical MD, you'll conduct telehealth assessments that serve as the clinical gateway for families newly enrolled with Hera. Each 45-60 minute visit establishes the clinical foundation: confirming Medicare eligibility, synthesizing complex medical and social history, identifying barriers to treatment, and flagging clinical priorities for our care managers (Heroes) to address over months of ongoing coordination. This assessment work directly shapes the care strategy that families receive. ## Key Responsibilities - Conduct comprehensive telehealth assessments for newly enrolled Medicare clients - Synthesize complex medical histories and identify clinical priorities for ongoing care coordination - Document clinical findings that inform care manager (Hero) intervention strategies - Provide clinical oversight and collaboration as needed with care management team - Establish clinical credibility and trust during initial patient contact ## Why clinicians tell us Hera feels different - Clinical autonomy. You own your assessments. No templates, no utilization pressure, no inbox drowning. You conduct real clinical work that shapes care plans. - Remote work from home. Set your own flexible schedule. No clinic overhead, no commute, no admin burden. - You're building it. You're not an employee in a machine. You're a founding clinical leader shaping how we do geriatric care in new states. - You're never alone on a case. A whole care team (Heroes, social workers, coordinators) executes the plan you establish. - No ceiling on you. We're early stage and growing fast. Clinical leaders joining now are shaping the company. ## Requirements - MD or DO (must be licensed to practice in all 50 states) - Board certification in family medicine, internal medicine or other relevant speciality. - Substantial experience in geriatric medicine, primary care, or chronic disease management - Confident in telehealth assessment and skilled at building clinical rapport across a screen - Strong clinical judgment and comfort with complexity and ambiguity - Aligned with our mission: you see older adults as deserving of excellent, attentive care Ready to shape geriatric care delivery at scale? Apply now. ## About Hera ## Company Overview - **One-liner**: Hera is a care management company that matches families with dedicated senior care experts (Heroes) who coordinate all aspects of an aging parent’s healthcare, covered by Original Medicare. - **Entity Type**: Private (Seed stage) - **Headquarters**: New York, New York, United States - **Founded**: Not publicly available - **Founders**: Jenny Lee (Co-founder & CEO), Connie Kang (Co-founder & COO), Myles Novick (Co-founder & CTO) ## Core Business - **Primary industry**: Senior care management / Healthcare technology - **Target customers**: B2C – adult children caring for aging parents; B2B – Medicare beneficiaries and payers - **Mission statement**: “We only deliver care good enough for our own parents.” ## Products & Services - **Hera Hero**: A dedicated senior care expert (licensed social worker or nurse) who manages non-clinical tasks – coordinating doctors, navigating insurance, managing medications, applying for Medicaid – all covered by Medicare. - **Juno**: An AI “teammate” that handles documentation, billing, phone holds, and surfaces the best next action for each family, learning from every case. - **Hera Bridges**: A program that helps families access Medicaid benefits for up to 24/7 home care, dental, vision, and transportation (announced as a new offering). ## Market Standing - **Valuation**: Not disclosed - **Total Funding**: $7.2M seed round (announced December 2025) - **Notable Investors**: Accel (lead), IA Ventures, BoxGroup - **Growth Signals**: - 18 employees (as of mid-2026), with monthly headcount growth of +7.4% - 90% of clients pay $0 out-of-pocket - 95% family retention rate - Serving 7 states (NY, NJ, CA, FL, MA, MD, PA) with plans to expand to Medicare Advantage soon - Active job postings increased 150% quarterly; 10 open roles at time of writing ## Competitive Advantages - **Unique pricing model**: Services reimbursed by Original Medicare’s Chronic Care Management program – most families pay nothing, unlike private care managers who charge $150–$300/hour. - **AI-augmented human care**: Juno automates administrative work so Heroes can focus on building trust and handling complex family situations. - **New profession**: Creating the “Hero” role – a dedicated, non-clinical care coordinator that no other company offers at this scale with insurance coverage. - **High trust and stickiness**: 95% of families stay with Hera, indicating deep satisfaction and reliance. ## Strategic Focus - Expand coverage to Medicare Advantage plans (currently only Original Medicare) - Scale the Hero workforce (GM of Heroes role open) and grow engineering/tech team to enhance Juno - Launch programs like Hera Bridges to unlock additional Medicaid-funded services - Build out growth, product, and design teams (founding roles in evangelism, marketing, frontend, backend, and product design) ## Why Work Here - **Mission-driven**: Redefining how families care for aging parents; tangible impact on real lives (improving hospital discharge, preventing eviction, etc.) - **Small, founding team**: Join as an early employee (currently 18 people) with high ownership and influence. - **Engineering culture**: Use AI to augment, not replace, human connection – “the last mile” of healthcare.
