FAQ
Common questions about Feeny — search, credits, profiles, and more.
What is Feeny?
Feeny is a discovery engine for the startup world — a fast, curated index of job listings, company profiles, news, podcasts, newsletters, and product launches, with funds and more on the way. It's a place to catch up on tech companies, trends, and startups without juggling a dozen tabs.
Is it free?
Yes — browsing, searching, reading profiles, and listening to content are free. Some AI-powered tools (like chat, resume tailoring, and cover letters) run on a credit system, with a free monthly allowance and paid plans if you want more.
How does the search work?
Feeny's job search is built for relevance and speed. Under the hood it uses ParadeDB on a single Postgres database — no Algolia or ElasticSearch — to power full-text and relevance ranking over 200k+ curated listings. In practice, that means the right roles surface before you finish typing.
What can I chat with Feeny about?
Anything in the index: job matches, company culture, tech stacks, recent news, product launches, and more. The chat is grounded in Feeny's own data, so its answers point at real companies and roles rather than guessing.
What are credits?
Credits meter the AI features that cost real money to run (chat, resume tailoring, cover letters, and similar). Everyone gets a free monthly allowance; paid plans and credit packs add more. Nothing is charged if an action returns no result.
Can I have more than one profile?
Yes. Unlike LinkedIn, Feeny lets you create multiple profiles and switch between them for your public one — useful if you present differently to different audiences.
Can I add my own feeds?
Yes. On top of Feeny's curated selection, you can add custom feeds for news and content so your view reflects what you want to follow.
Where does the company data come from?
Company profiles are built by fusing dozens of public signals into an enriched, editorialized profile — not just a logo and a one-liner. New signals are being added over time to make them richer.
Is there an API or CLI?
Yes — a public REST API and a @feeny/cli command-line client, both usable by humans and AI agents. See the API & CLI page.
How do I get help or share feedback?
Feeny is an evolving project, and feedback genuinely shapes what ships next. Use the in-app options to request a company, report an issue, or get in touch.
