Accounting Manager, China at RZR Global Inc. (Beijing, China)
RZR Global Inc.· Beijing, China·
Job description
Who Are We?
RZR is an AI-native advertising platform built for the next era of performance marketing. We operate at the intersection of machine learning, programmatic media, and full-funnel mobile growth, powering campaigns for some of the world's most ambitious advertisers. Our platform is purpose-built to deliver outcomes at scale, not just impressions.
We are a team of builders, operators, and technologists who believe the advertising industry is overdue for a fundamental rethink. We move fast, operate with a high degree of ownership, and hold ourselves to an exceptionally high standard of craft.
RZR is scaling aggressively with an active M&A pipeline and a platform vision that puts us on a path to becoming an industry leader. This is a rare opportunity to join a company at an inflection point and help shape what it becomes.
Role Overview
The Accounting Manager, China owns statutory compliance, controllership, and treasury operations for RZR's China entity (WFOE) end to end — the on-the-ground finance authority for the relationship with the external audit firm, the local tax bureau (SAT), and banking partners. This person ensures the entity's books, tax filings, and regulatory submissions hold up under scrutiny.
This role is scoped to China only but requires regular collaboration with RZR's Global Finance team — reconciling the local ledger to US GAAP for consolidation, coordinating on intercompany and transfer-pricing treatment, and escalating China-specific technical positions that affect group reporting.
Reporting directly to Jeff Ng, VP Controller, with no local dotted-line manager, this is a senior individual-contributor role for someone who wants full ownership of a country finance function — run independently day-to-day, but supported by and accountable to a global finance organization rather than working in isolation.
Key Responsibilities
Statutory Compliance & Tax
- Own preparation and on-time filing of monthly VAT returns, quarterly CIT prepayments, and the annual CIT reconciliation, working directly with external tax advisors where needed
- Manage the annual statutory audit end to end: coordinate with the external CPA firm, prepare audit schedules, and resolve findings before they cascade into CIT settlement or dividend-clearance delays
- File the annual Foreign-Related Annual Report and maintain transfer-pricing documentation for intercompany service flows where related-party transaction thresholds are met
- Track and apply changes under the new PRC VAT Law (effective January 2026) — including zero-rating vs. exemption treatment for cross-border intercompany transactions — and flag GL and reporting impacts to Global Finance proactively
Controllership & Treasury
- Manage banking relationships, FX conversion, and SAFE approvals for cross-border payments and dividend remittance
- Own the monthly close for the China entity under PRC accounting standards and deliver a clean, reconciled close package to Global Finance on the group calendar
- Oversee payroll-related withholding — individual income tax (IIT), social insurance, and housing fund — and ensure statutory and employee payments are never late
- Maintain the entity's books under PRC accounting standards and reconcile them monthly to the standard Global Finance uses for consolidation
Global Reporting & Collaboration
- Partner with Global Finance to reconcile the local China ledger to US GAAP for group consolidation, including intercompany eliminations and transfer-pricing invoice treatment
- Join a recurring cadence with Global Finance and Tax to review open China tax positions, upcoming filing deadlines, and any judgment calls needing HQ sign-off
- Respond to ad hoc requests from the VP Controller and Global Finance on China-specific technical positions — this is not a day-to-day-supervised role, but it is not a silo either
Business Partnering
- Act as the primary finance point of contact for China operations, surfacing compliance risk, cash-flow issues, or regulatory change to HQ before it becomes a problem
- Document and improve local finance processes and controls so the function scales cleanly as the entity grows
Required Skills and Experience
Must-Have
- China CPA or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification
- 6+ years of finance and accounting experience in China, with substantial hands-on WFOE statutory compliance — CIT, VAT, IIT, and the annual audit cycle
- Working knowledge of PRC accounting standards, with experience reconciling local books to US GAAP or IFRS for HQ or group reporting
- Direct experience managing external auditors, the tax bureau (SAT), and SAFE and bank documentation for cross-border payments and dividend remittance
- Fluent Mandarin and professional working English, spoken and written — this role is the bridge between local filings and an English-speaking HQ
- Demonstrated ability to run a finance function independently while proactively collaborating cross-functionally
Nice-to-Have
- Prior experience at a foreign-invested enterprise (WFOE or JV) rather than only domestic PRC entities
- Experience building or formalizing a finance function from a lean or early-stage baseline
- Exposure to transfer-pricing documentation or related-party transaction reporting
- Experience working within a US-headquartered, multi-entity global finance organization
- Familiarity with NetSuite or a comparable multi-subsidiary ERP
Work Setup
This is an in-office role based in Beijing, China. Standard China business hours apply, with periodic early or late overlap for monthly close and reporting syncs with RZR's Global Finance teams in the US and India.
Why Join RZR?
- Full ownership of a country finance function from day one — not just execution, but the design of controls and processes for China as RZR scales its footprint there. This is not a shared seat or a support role.
- Direct line to the VP Controller and close partnership with Global Finance — with real visibility into group-level consolidation and reporting decisions. Your work and judgment are visible at the top.
- High-trust, low-bureaucracy environment — autonomy to run the compliance calendar independently, balanced with a genuine global team to escalate to and learn from. Not an isolated satellite seat.
- Room to grow the role — as the China entity scales, there is a clear path to building out a local finance team under this seat.
- Stable, growing company with a profitable foundation — RZR is EBITDA positive and scaling aggressively. A strong platform to build a senior finance career.
