Back-End Engineer at TransferGo (Vilnius, Lithuania)
TransferGo· Vilnius, Lithuania·
Job description
TransferGo is a growing fintech scale-up on a mission to champion financial freedom with care. We strive to provide tailored, more affordable financial services that make people's hard-earned money go further. Now in our 14th year, with close to 400 employees in offices across Europe and the UK, we’re crafting a brilliant, relevant product that makes a difference in people's lives and the well-being of their families.
We’ve come this far by building a talented, diverse workforce on a fair culture and our strong values. Having this strong team of employees, we can serve those who really need our product to make their lives better.
Your team & impact
The DevEx team's customers are TransferGo's own engineers. We don't build product features directly — we improve the existing codebase, engineering tooling, and workflows to raise the productivity of every other engineering team, and we help enable AI adoption across engineering.
Here’s what you’ll be doing as Back-End Engineer:
- Develop and improve the existing monolith and microservice ecosystem.
- Improve code quality, performance, and maintainability of the codebase other engineering teams build on.
- Build and improve internal developer tooling and workflows.
- Resolve cross-team technical issues that block other engineers.
- Drive AI adoption — optimising engineering processes with AI tooling.
- Progressively pick up .NET as part of the stack evolution.
You’ll report to our Director of Engineering.
Here’s what we’d love from our new Back-End Engineer:
We don’t expect you to meet every single requirement listed. What matters most is your motivation, mindset, and ability to learn. If you’re excited about this role and think you could be a great fit, we’d really like to hear from you.
- Efficient with AI (Claude Code / Cursor)
- Large scale production experience either PHP or .NET stack
- Working with databases SQL/MySQL
- Dockerized environments Docker
- CICD flows GHA/Jenkins
- Service mindset — the "end customer" is a fellow engineer
- Strong ownership beyond their own lane
- Over-communicator comfortable working across many teams
- Adaptable and eager to learn new stacks.
And if you can also do this stuff, even better:
- TypeScript/web exposure
- Mobile app development exposure
- Cloud based environments AWS
- Kubernetes
- CloudFormation/Terraform
- DataDog
