Job Description
Saddle Stitcher Operator
A commercial printing company is seeking an experienced Saddle Stitcher Operator to join its production team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring saddle stitching equipment to produce finished materials that meet quality and production standards.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate saddle stitching equipment.
- Load printed materials into pockets in the correct order.
- Complete equipment adjustments and makeready.
- Monitor jobs for correct page order, stitching, trimming, and overall quality.
- Read job tickets and follow production instructions.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and make adjustments when problems occur.
- Keep accurate production and waste records.
- Complete routine cleaning and basic equipment maintenance.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures.
- Work with other departments to keep jobs moving on schedule.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating saddle stitching or similar bindery equipment is preferred.
- Experience with Muller Martini, Heidelberg, or similar equipment is helpful.
- Ability to read job tickets and follow written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work overtime when production needs require it.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for most of the shift.
- Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the production area.
- Ability to lift and carry printed materials safely.
Schedule and Compensation
- Shift: 2nd & 3rd shift
- Pay: $22-$28/hour depends on experience
- Location: Bellmawr, NJ
