ABOUT MACH INDUSTRIES

Founded in 2023, Mach Industries is a rapidly growing defense technology company focused on developing next-generation autonomous defense platforms. At the core of our mission is the commitment to delivering scalable, decentralized defense systems that enhance the strategic capabilities of the United States and its allies. With a workforce of approximately 350 employees, we operate with startup agility and ambition.

Our vision is to redefine the future of warfare through cutting-edge manufacturing, innovation at speed, and unwavering focus on national security. We are dedicated to solving the next generation of warfare with lethal systems that deter kinetic conflict and protect global security.

THE ROLE

Mach Industries is seeking a Calibration Program Manager to own the systems that keep measurement tools and equipment accurate, traceable, available, and fit for use across engineering, manufacturing, test, and operations. You will manage the calibration program, equipment lifecycle, service providers, calibration records, and certificate data used to make measurement and product decisions. This role spans Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Test, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations, and external calibration laboratories. The work is hands-on and requires regular engagement with measurement equipment, calibration certificates, inspection processes, production environments, and technical users in Huntington Beach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the calibration program for measurement tools and equipment used across engineering, manufacturing, test, inspection, and operations.
  • Manage the equipment lifecycle from selection, procurement, registration, and deployment through calibration, repair, retirement, and replacement.
  • Establish calibration intervals, methods, acceptance criteria, traceability requirements, and status controls based on equipment use, risk, stability, and measurement needs.
  • Review calibration certificates and historical results to identify drift, recurring failures, out-of-tolerance trends, overdue equipment, and opportunities to improve calibration intervals.
  • Assess the impact of out-of-tolerance conditions on prior measurements, products, processes, and test results, and coordinate required containment and corrective actions.
  • Define equipment-selection criteria based on intended use, measurement range, accuracy, environment, resolution, reliability, maintainability, and total cost of ownership.
  • Coordinate internal and external calibration activities, including scheduling, vendor qualification, service-level expectations, certificate review, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain accurate calibration records, equipment identification, location, status, ownership, history, and traceability within the applicable quality and asset-management systems.
  • Develop dashboards and reports that communicate calibration health, equipment availability, certificate trends, measurement risk, and improvement priorities to technical and operations leaders.
  • Up to 50% travel

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, metrology, physical science, manufacturing, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Five or more years of experience managing calibration, metrology, measurement systems, inspection equipment, or a related technical program.
  • Knowledge of calibration principles, measurement traceability, uncertainty, equipment suitability, and calibration certificate interpretation.
  • Experience analyzing calibration and equipment-history data to identify drift, recurring failures, out-of-tolerance trends, and measurement risk.
  • Experience selecting, qualifying, maintaining, and controlling measurement tools and equipment based on intended use and technical requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate technical users, external laboratories, suppliers, and cross-functional teams while maintaining accurate records and timely program execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience managing calibration programs in aerospace, defense, semiconductor, medical, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with ISO 17025, AS9100, NIST traceability, A2LA-accredited laboratories, or comparable metrology requirements.
  • Experience with measurement system analysis, Gage R&R, uncertainty budgets, capability analysis, or measurement-method validation.
  • Experience with calibration-management, CMMS, ERP, QMS, asset-management, or laboratory-information systems.
  • Experience building calibration and measurement capability in a startup, high-growth manufacturing, or rapidly changing hardware environment.
