Summary

Third Space Therapy seeks a fully licensed Psychiatrist to serve as a Collaborating or Supervising Physician for Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. This remote, non-clinical role focuses on oversight, quality assurance, and clinical collaboration within a Medicaid-served behavioral health setting.

Job description

Third Space Therapy combines the independence of private practice with the support of a group setting, focused on expanding Medicaid-covered behavioral healthcare.

We're looking for board-certified Psychiatrists to serve as Collaborating Physicians for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners. This is a flexible engagement centered on collaboration, chart review, and clinical consultation within a fully remote care model serving Medicaid populations.

Why physicians work with us

  • Complete flexibility. You set your own hours and availability and shape the work around your own practice — alongside your existing clinical work.
  • Your judgment, your practice. You conduct collaboration and chart review according to your own clinical judgment and the requirements of your license.
  • Collaborative model. Work alongside PMHNPs and therapists in an integrated behavioral health practice.
  • Paid per PMHNP. You're paid a monthly rate for each PMHNP you collaborate with, at a competitive rate.
  • Meaningful work. Expand access to high-quality psychiatric care for Medicaid members.

What you'll do

  • Provide the physician collaboration required under Ohio law for the PMHNPs you work with
  • Conduct chart reviews as set out in the collaborative practice agreement, covering clinical quality, prescribing, and documentation
  • Meet with PMHNPs to discuss complex cases, diagnostic questions, and treatment planning
  • Provide real-time and asynchronous consultation on challenging or escalating patient presentations

What you'll need

  • An active, unrestricted MD or DO license in good standing in Ohio
  • Board certification in Psychiatry (ABPN or equivalent)
  • Your own malpractice coverage ($1M per occurrence / $3M aggregate)
  • Working knowledge of collaborative practice requirements for PMHNPs
  • Experience treating diverse psychiatric conditions across the lifespan
  • Comfort with telehealth, EHR-based chart review, and remote communication tools
  • A quiet, HIPAA-compliant home office, plus your own computer and reliable internet

We're looking for physicians who bring

  • Experience collaborating with or supervising PMHNPs
  • Strong clinical judgment across a range of psychiatric presentations and populations
  • The ability to thoughtfully balance regulatory requirements with meaningful clinical partnership
  • A genuine commitment to expanding access to psychiatric care for Medicaid members

Why work at Third Space

  • Fully Remote: Work from anywhere with a reliable internet connection.
  • Flexible Schedule: Set your own hours; no minimum caseload requirements.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Paid liability insurance, annual CEU allowance, paid supervision, and credentialing handled by the company.
  • Growth & Development: Clear advancement path with support at every stage; ideal for both early-career and experienced therapists.
  • Culture: Collaborative network of mental health professionals focused on clinical excellence rather than admin tasks.
