Job description
About Numeral: Numeral is transforming how taxes get done. Digital businesses today are bogged down by a painful web of regulations across 47 states and 70+ countries. We eliminate that burden so teams can focus on what they actually set out to build. We're the largest and fastest-growing AI-native tax solution. Founded in 2023, we've raised over $57M from Benchmark, Mayfield, Y Combinator, and others. We serve 3,000+ paying customers and have more than tripled revenue every year in our history.
About the role: You'll join our Commercial sales team at the steepest part of the growth curve. Your buyers are founders, CFOs, controllers, and ops leaders at e-commerce and fintech companies who are drowning in compliance work. Most of them know they have a problem. Your job is to run a sharp discovery, show them a better way, and close. This is a full-cycle, high-velocity role: real pipeline ownership, short cycles, and a product that demos incredibly well. You'll close deals in weeks, not quarters, and you'll help shape the playbook as we scale the team.
What you'll do:
- Own the full sales cycle from first touch to close, across inbound and outbound
- Run world-class discovery and demos, mapping Numeral's automation to each customer's operational, technical, and financial workflows
- Manage a high-velocity pipeline with precision: efficient cycles, rigorous CRM hygiene, and clean handoffs to onboarding
- Work closely with Sales Leadership, Product, and Solutions Engineering to sharpen messaging, improve win rates, and influence the roadmap
- Help build the GTM machine: improve processes, playbooks, and outbound motions as we scale
- Represent Numeral at industry events, conferences, and strategic customer conversations
What you'll bring:
- 5+ years of sales experience with a consistent record of meeting or beating quota
- 3+ years of experience as an Account Executive or in a comparable closing role
- Experience selling to finance, accounting, or operations buyers (fintech, tax, ERP, or compliance SaaS is a plus)
- Strong discovery and consultative selling instincts, paired with a bias for action
- Operational excellence with high-volume pipelines and short cycles
- Comfort with ambiguity: you prioritize ruthlessly, stay organized, and execute without waiting for direction
- A hunter's drive and a founder's mindset: scrappy, creative, and obsessed with customer outcomes
- Exceptional written and verbal communication
- Coachable, resilient, and energized by hard problems
Nice to haves:
- Background in sales tax, taxtech, fintech, or e-commerce tooling
- Familiarity with MEDDICC or similar sales methodologies
- Fluency with Salesforce, Gong, Nooks, and modern sales stack tools
- You already use AI tools to work faster and smarter, and you have opinions about it
Location:
- This role is remote or hybrid (3 days a week in our SF office)
What we offer:
- Competitive salary and equity - you'll share directly in the company's success
- Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
- Wellness perks like Headspace and the Peloton One App
- 401(k) to help you build long-term financial security
- Relocation assistance to NYC or SF (if needed)
- Lunch and snacks when you're in the office
- Regular team offsites and company events as we grow
- A culture built on ownership - your work matters and people will see it!
Why work at Numeral

- Benefits: Competitive salary, meaningful equity (stock options), comprehensive health/wellness perks, top-of-the-line equipment.
- Growth potential: One of the fastest-growing Y Combinator companies; employees get to shape a platform in a massive, underserved market.
