Job description
We’re looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Billings Officer to join the CSA & Argus team. This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for processing high-volume billing, reconciling data, and working closely with operations, sales, clients, and field teams.You’ll be working with a wide range of stakeholders and playing an important role in ensuring large client accounts are billed accurately.
No formal finance qualification is required — we’re looking for someone who enjoys hands-on billing and wants to be part of a busy, collaborative team. If you’re confident with Excel, comfortable working across multiple systems and aren’t afraid to pick up the phone and chase answers, this could be a great fit.
What you’ll be doing
- Review job and truck timing data to ensure hours, quantities and charges are billed correctly.
- Verify completed jobs, waste quantities and service types before invoicing clients.
- Review automated billing through Connexion and manually check for errors or discrepancies.
- Manage client-specific billing requirements, rates and exceptions.
- Upload and maintain billing information across multiple client portals.
- Cross-check client approvals, Excel data and invoices to ensure everything matches.
- Work closely with Operations, Sales and Account Managers to resolve billing queries.
- Speak directly with operators, drivers and field staff to clarify job details.
- Process client payments over the phone and via internet banking where required.
- Maintain and reconcile high-volume Excel spreadsheets and reporting data.
- Use PowerBI reports and Excel to support reconciliation and reporting.
- Manage a high volume of queries while working across multiple systems and screens.
- Support the shared team inbox and allocated client accounts.
- Provide cover and support to the Senior Billings Officer and Finance Team Leader when required.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in billing, invoicing, accounts or similar high-volume finance administration.
- Strong Excel skills - pivot table experience is highly regarded.
- Exceptional attention to detail. Accuracy is essential in this role.
- Comfortable learning and switching between multiple systems, portals and screens.
- Confident communicator who is comfortable picking up the phone and speaking with clients, operations and field staff.
- Proactive approach - you ask questions, investigate discrepancies and raise issues early.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities under pressure.
- Resilient and comfortable working in a fast-paced construction and waste industry environment.
