Job description

ABOUT LATCHBIO

We build the benchmarks that test whether frontier AI can actually do computational biology. Pharma/biotech, Frontier AI, & solution providers rely on benchmarks.bio benchmarks.bio to evaluate and improve their AI systems .

We're hiring a Product Design + Frontend Engineer to design and build the experiences researchers use to understand, run, and contribute to our benchmarks; both the internal tools our team uses to build tasks and the public-facing platform where the scientific community engages with our work. You'll shape how researchers interact with AI performance data, how we present our benchmarks and scientific launches to the world, to help determine whether frontier models can reliably handle the complex reasoning that real computational biology requires.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

You will be working on problems across product design and frontend engineering, including complex product workflows, interaction and visual design, frontend systems, developer and user experience, and our company website. You will work on a small team and have significant control over the direction you take and problems you tackle. You may work on understanding and improving complex workflows across our platform, identifying usability and design problems, developing new interaction patterns, and designing and implementing features from idea through production.

You will also design and build pages and experiences for our company website, including benchmark launches, product announcements, company updates, and other marketing needs. You will work with the team to determine how we present our products and work externally, translating technical ideas into clear, polished web experiences. This is a good fit for someone who cares equally about how something works, how it looks, and how well it is built.

STRONG FIT

  • Designed and shipped products, interfaces, or websites that people love
  • Strong visual, interaction, and product design judgment
  • Fluency with modern HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and React
  • Ability to move fluidly between design and implementation
  • Ability to identify meaningful product problems and independently take them from loosely defined ideas through production
  • Experience designing and building polished marketing websites, landing pages, or launch experiences
  • Ability to communicate complex technical products clearly through design
  • Comfortable working through ambiguity, setting your own direction, and iterating quickly
