The Role
The Director, Brand & Growth is the operational backbone of the Wpromote x Giant Spoon (WPxGS) Growth team, owning the Creative & Experiential new business process from inbound management through proposal development, RFIs, RFPs, and final pitches. The role ensures every pitch meets high standards for quality, consistency, and strategic storytelling, enabling Growth Leaders to focus on client strategy and relationships.
The Director also maintains the agency’s institutional knowledge—including proposal content, credentials, case studies, staffing information, AI knowledge repositories, and reusable assets—so every pursuit starts from a strong foundation. Combining account and project management, editorial excellence, content operations, and cross-functional leadership, this role improves proposal quality and team efficiency.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is ready to become a Spoon - to give a damn, try anything, and enjoy the people they are working with. This team is based in the New York office and works in a hybrid fashion with in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.
You Will Own Inbound, Proposal & RFP Leadership:
- Vet inbound opportunities and brief leadership on fit, scope, and next steps
- Own RFIs, RFPs, security questionnaires, procurement requests, and proposals from kickoff through submission
- Manage client and procurement communications, workplans, timelines, trackers, and review schedules
- Manage third-party consultant and procurement communications throughout the proposal process
Proposal Development & Content:
- Partner with Growth Leads and Pitch Leadership to shape tailored, strategic proposal narratives
- Oversee credentials, proposals, executive summaries, capability presentations, and supporting materials with the Growth Coordinator
- Ensure all materials meet editorial standards and deliver a consistent, premium WPxGS brand experience
Cross-Functional Pitch Operations:
- Coordinate contributors across Strategy, Media, Creative, Analytics, Technology, Finance, Legal, and Executive Leadership
- Track progress, risks, dependencies, and milestones; drive accountability and timely leadership reviews
- Coordinate presentation production, printed materials, leave-behinds, and meeting logistics as needed
Knowledge & Content Management:
- Own the proposal library and keep agency materials current, accurate, and accessible
- Maintain bios, leadership profiles, case studies, service descriptions, capabilities, certifications, awards, and partner and technology information
- Steward proposal knowledge in AI systems and repositories; develop reusable content with subject matter experts
Team Leadership & Process Excellence:
- Manage and develop a direct report through coaching, mentorship, regular feedback, and workload prioritization
- Improve proposal workflows, templates, and governance to increase efficiency and quality
- Establish proposal management best practices and train team members on tools, processes, and standards
- Help onboard and train new team members on proposal tools, processes, and standards
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in proposal management, new business, agency growth, marketing operations or related functions within an Integrated media or creative advertising agency
- 2+ years of experience managing and developing direct reports
- Experience leading complex RFP/RFI responses within advertising, media, marketing, consulting, or technology organizations
- Demonstrated success supporting competitive proposal processes and cross-functional pursuit teams
- Outstanding written, editing, proofreading, and communication skills
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority deadlines simultaneously
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience building and maintaining knowledge management systems or content libraries
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Salesforce, project management platforms, and collaborative work tools
- The ability to thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments
Nice To Have
- Editorial or technical writing background
- Experience supporting consultant-led procurement processes
- Experience with proposal automation or knowledge management platforms
- Familiarity with AI-powered content management and prompt libraries
