Founders Associate at GetGround (London, United Kingdom)
GetGround· London, United Kingdom·
Role details
Job description
This is a high impact, visible role. As our Founder Associate, you'll support the CEO & COO and augment their capacity by taking on problems to solve that are critically important to how we build all aspects of GetGround. Some weeks that means building the model that decides whether we enter a new market. Others it means untangling why a core funnel is leaking, or writing the board paper, or problem solving what seems like the impossible task. You'll be in a role that will require you to use your expert communication skills, analytical mindset, commercial accumen and intellect to support in propelling us through our next stage of growth.
What you'll do
- Own the CEO & COO’s highest-priority problems end to end, usually two or three at a time, each lasting anywhere from a fortnight to a quarter. You'll define the question, do the analysis, form a view, get buy-in, and see it through to execution.
- Do the analysis yourself. You'll pull the data, build the model, and stress-test your own conclusions before anyone else does. We don't have an army of analysts for you to delegate to, and we like it that way.
- Turn strategy into things that ship. You will be accountable for shipping these initiatives, creating impact and own the result.
- Prepare the CEO & COO for the rooms that matter, board meetings, investor conversations, partnership negotiations. You'll shape what gets said.
- Spot what nobody is looking at. A good Founder Associate brings problems to the CEO & COO as often as they receive them.
What we are looking for
- Agency and resilience
- A unwavering work ethic and desire to scale a business
- 2 to 5 + years in strategy consulting, investment banking, private equity, or an operating role at a high-growth startup.
- Strong commercial judgement. You can look at a messy situation, work out which two numbers actually matter, and be roughly right quickly rather than precisely right too late.
- You write and communicate difficult concepts and topics in simple, clear terms and to an expert level.
- You can influence without authority
- High tolerance for ambiguity and pace. Priorities shift. Projects get killed. If that sounds exhausting rather than energising, this isn't the role.
Nice to have
- Exposure to fintech or regulated financial services
- Experience taking something from zero to one inside an existing company
