Job description

The company Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don’t wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that’s as flexible and responsive as they are. That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed. We’ve already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive.

We're looking for a performance marketer who will own and scale a diverse channel mix for the German market. Reporting to the Team Lead Performance Marketing, you'll build new online channels from scratch such as Native Ads, Reddit Ads and LinkedIn Ads, and drive conversion rate optimisation on our paid landing pages, turning traffic into leads. This is a role for someone who thrives on building things that don't yet exist. You're analytical, structured and hands-on — and you bring the commercial instinct to know which bets are worth scaling.

What you can drive at iwoca

New Online Channels

  • Explore, test and establish new paid channels such as Native Ads (e.g. Outbrain, Taboola), Reddit Ads and LinkedIn Ads
  • Set up each channel from scratch — KPIs, measurement infrastructure, budget — and own performance end-to-end
  • Build the commercial case for each channel before we spend: audience potential, unit economics, expected return
  • Experiment aggressively, measure honestly: we scale what proves itself and stop what doesn't
  • Act as project lead for each new channel launch, coordinating across design, compliance and copywriting

Conversion Rate Optimisation

  • Own the conversion journey on our paid landing pages and run the experimentation roadmap that turns traffic into leads
  • Design and run A/B tests with clear hypotheses and proper evaluation of significance
  • Use Google Analytics, heatmapping tools and A/B testing platforms to support and confirm your findings
  • Work with design and copywriting to ship page iterations fast, informed by data rather than opinion

Growing the Channel Mix

  • As channels mature, explore direct placements with publishers who reach German SME decision-makers — identifying, pitching and owning those commercial relationships
  • Build lean, scalable processes so performance stays high without relying on manual effort
  • Explore and integrate AI tools into your workflows, from ideation to execution
  • Balance efficiency with rigour: we automate where it makes sense, but we never skip the critical thinking

Requirements

Essential

  • 2+ years in performance or growth marketing, with meaningful experience beyond Paid Search and Paid Social, for example Native Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Reddit Ads, programmatic, affiliate or direct placements
  • A track record of independently launching or building a channel from an early stage, you've done this yourself, not watched it happen
  • Strong analytical and commercial thinking: you build business cases from first principles, use data to make decisions, and understand statistical significance when evaluating test results
  • Hands-on experience designing and running A/B tests (landing pages, ad creative or conversion flows), including defining hypotheses and evaluating statistical significance
  • A builder mindset: you're energised by setting up channels and measurement frameworks where little or nothing exists yet
  • Near-native written German (C2 or equivalent), you'll be writing ad copy and landing page text, and negotiating with German publishers in writing
  • Fluent English (company working language)
  • Demonstrated curiosity about AI tools, you already use them in practical ways to solve problems and improve quality, and can explain the reasoning behind when you do and don't

Bonus

  • Experience in fintech, lending or another regulated industry
  • Experience working with or managing external media partners and publishers
  • Familiarity with offline attribution modelling

How we work

We're a cross-location team, so we're deliberate about staying connected: weekly performance syncs to challenge each other's thinking, monthly cross-channel jour fixes with the wider marketing team so nothing happens in a silo, and regular company-wide learning sessions where we share what worked and what didn't. We expect team members in the Berlin office at least two days per week. The culture At iwoca, we prioritise a culture of learning, growth, and support, and invest in the development of our team members. We value thought and skill diversity, and encourage people to explore new areas of interest, adopt better tools – including AI – and apply sound judgement so our products and decisions improve over time.

The offices We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a great place to work:

  • Offices in London, Leeds, Berlin, and Frankfurt with plenty of drinks and snacks.
  • Events and community-led groups, including running groups, padel, and monthly ping-pong and pool competitions.

The benefits

  • Flexible working hours.
  • Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership.
  • A choice between a dedicated dental plan or a health cash plan that reimburses everyday medical expenses.
  • A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents.
  • 25 days’ holiday per year, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave.
  • A one-month, fully paid sabbatical after four years.
  • Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support.
  • 3% Pension contributions on total earnings.
  • An employee equity incentive scheme.
  • Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money.
  • Electric car scheme and cycle to work scheme.
  • Two company retreats a year: we’ve been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield.

And to make sure we all keep learning, we offer:

  • A learning and development budget for everyone.
  • Company-wide talks with internal and external speakers.
  • Access to learning platforms like Treehouse.
