Job description

The role & impact

Working closely with a global team of People Experience (PX/ HR) Advisors, this role provides generalist advice and guidance to Xero employees, people leaders and the wider HR team. You'll be a trusted advisor across the full spectrum of people matters, from legislative compliance and onboarding through to performance management, global mobility and employee relations. This is a 12 month fixed term opportunity which involves working closely with our HR Business Partners to deliver strategic initiatives and cyclical activities, including annual salary review, talent mapping and calibration, and engagement deep-dives. You'll help identify trends and opportunities to build leadership capability, contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, and look for ways to bring more automation and self-service into how Xeros experience our people processes. The team & how they connect You'll sit within the global HR Advisory team, working day to day alongside other HR Advisors and in close partnership with wider HR function and our Xero People Leaders. The team acts as the point of contact for complex people-related matters and policy interpretation, escalating and collaborating where issues cut across regions or specialties. Initially, you'll focus on:

  • Providing advice and guidance across employee relations, onboarding, performance management and employee engagement
  • Supporting Global Mobility and Flexible Work requests, partnering with the Global Mobility Lead
  • Supporting cyclical HR processes including Annual Salary Review, Talent Mapping and Calibration, and engagement deep-dives
  • Identifying opportunities for automation and self-service to give Xeros more ownership of their own HR experience

Where and how you can work This is a remote role, open to candidates based in the US Pacific Time Zone. You'll work independently while staying closely connected with a global team, so a reliable home setup and comfort with asynchronous, distributed collaboration matters here. Here are some of the things we're looking for, for this role:

  • You'll bring HR advisory experience gained in a fast-paced environment, preferably in a global tech company
  • Strong stakeholder management sits at the core of how you work, backed by clear and confident communication
  • You've applied employment law in practice and know how to manage the risk that comes with it
  • Facilitating people processes and employee relations cases in line with best practice is familiar territory for you
  • Curiosity drives you to ask the right questions and understand what's really going on before you advise
  • You hold yourself to a high bar for accuracy and consistently follow through on what you say you'll do

Apply even if your experience isn't a perfect match! At Xero, we hire based on your skills, passion, and the unique perspective you can bring to enhance our culture and team.
