Keeley Companies is looking to add a Human Resources Business Partner to their People Operations team in St. Louis.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted People Operations partner to leaders, providing guidance on employment practices, compliance, employee relations, benefits, and complex team member matters.
- Lead employment compliance efforts across Keeley Companies, monitoring federal, state, and local requirements and ensuring practices evolve as the organization grows into new markets and jurisdictions.
- Identify and mitigate employment risk through proactive audits, internal controls, policy and procedure updates, manager education, and recommendations to People Operations leadership.
- Oversee key employment compliance programs, including I-9/E-Verify, background screening, drug testing, FMLA, ADA accommodations, leave programs, unemployment matters, and required compliance training.
- Partner on employee relations matters and investigations, ensuring consistent application of company policies, employment practices, documentation, and corrective actions.
- Partner with the Benefits Manager on the strategy, administration, and ongoing evaluation of company-sponsored benefit programs, including the self-insured health plan, 401(k), Open Enrollment, compliance requirements, audits, and plan implementations.
- Partner with carriers, brokers, third-party administrators, Payroll, HRIS, and internal stakeholders to resolve complex benefit issues, evaluate trends, strengthen controls, and improve program effectiveness.
- Analyze trends, recurring issues, and operational gaps across People Operations and recommend solutions that improve compliance, efficiency, scalability, and the team member experience.
- Lead and participate in cross-functional People Operations initiatives that support organizational growth and strengthen HR practices, systems, and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with emphasis in employment compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, or HR operations.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Experience administering FMLA, ADA accommodations, leave programs, and I-9/E-Verify compliance.
- Experience supporting employee benefit programs, self-insured health plans, and benefit compliance activities.
- Professional certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
- Experience with UKG or similar HRIS platforms preferred.
