THE ROLE

Virtu is looking for an experienced Institutional Sales Trader to join our EMEA prop team, focusing on developing and supporting client relationships across the continent.

This client-facing role combines trading, technology and relationship management. You will act as a trusted execution partner to clients, understanding their trading objectives and working closely with Virtu’s sales and trading teams to deliver high-quality execution and grow our European OTC business.

You will:

  • Develop and manage relationships with institutional investors, ETF issuers and other ETF stakeholders across Europe.
  • Onboard clients and provide them with relevant market colour, liquidity insights and pre- and post-trade analysis.
  • Manage client orders throughout the execution lifecycle and deliver high-quality outcomes, including working with principal traders and algorithmic execution of orders.
  • Take a consultative approach, identifying the execution strategies and solutions that best meet clients’ needs.
  • Identify new areas of growth.
  • Be responsible for growing and elevating the European OTC business.

THE CANDIDATE

  • At least 3 years of experience in institutional sales, sales trading or capital markets.
  • Experience developing and managing relationships with institutional investors.
  • Fluency in English and either Italian or German is essential. Additional European languages are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of ETFs, European equity markets, market structure, liquidity and execution strategies.
  • Strong commercial judgement, analytical ability and risk awareness.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative and entrepreneurial approach.
