Work Term: January - April 2027
The Residential Lending Strategy Intern will be responsible for supporting Mortgage Retention and HELOC strategies and initiatives to drive maximum customer retention and growth of our Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC) product. They will contribute alongside cross functional teams to support overall strategy and direction of the business unit. The successful candidate will use analytical abilities to provide both qualitative and quantitative input supporting the development of recommendations to drive strategy and growth.
The Core Responsibilities of the Job
- Support customer lifecycle management initiatives focused on improving engagement, card usage, retention, and the overall cardholder experience.
- Analyze customer, campaign, and business performance data to identify trends, measure results, and support data-driven business recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Digital, Marketing, Product, and Data to support the planning, execution, and tracking of key business initiatives.
- Conduct research on customer behaviours, market trends, and the competitive landscape to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare reports, analyses, presentations, and executive materials for internal stakeholders and partner meetings.
- Support the management of strategic partner relationships through monthly reporting, performance tracking, quarterly business reviews, and ongoing initiatives that contribute to long-term partnership success.
- Support internal monthly business reviews and performance deep dives through data analysis, insight development, reporting, and preparation of materials for senior leadership.
- Coordinate partner quarterly business reviews and internal monthly business reviews by gathering data and stakeholder inputs, updating presentations, tracking deliverables, and helping ensure materials are completed and delivered on schedule.

- Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Commerce, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in using data to support business decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present information effectively.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work multiple priorities simultaneously with track record of implementing results.

The incumbent will be working hybrid and in office time will be spent working from EQ Bank’s additional office space located at 2200-25 Ontario Street, Toronto, ON.
