Overview
Support the daily operations of dynamic R&D laboratory environments by ensuring logistics, equipment, and facilities run seamlessly. This hands-on, generalist position maintains lab functionality through robust coordination, equipment management, and diligent execution of operational tasks across multiple labs.
Responsibilities
- Ship, receive, pack, and transport equipment, devices, and prototypes between labs, buildings, and sites.
- Manage lab inventory and asset tagging, including applying asset tags, tracking serial numbers, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Set up and deploy lab hardware: stage devices, assemble and install server racks, install shield boxes, run cabling, and configure network switches.
- Facilitate lab moves, buildouts, and space reconfiguration by relocating equipment, furniture, and supplies to keep labs organized and functional.
- Perform basic device setup and network registration for lab devices.
- Coordinate and assist with equipment maintenance, repair, and calibration performed by external vendors.
- Schedule and support vendor and guest lab visits, providing on-site assistance as needed.
- Coordinate environmental health & safety (EHS) and facilities needs, including reporting issues, supporting inspections, and maintaining safe lab practices (such as ESD and PPE protocols).
- Identify and flag inventory or supply reorder needs to Lab Managers and purchasing teams.
- Maintain accurate documentation and diligent tracking of completed work in task management systems, including clear records for lab assets and processes.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree or technical/vocational training in electronics, IT, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory, technical operations, logistics, or hands-on support role.
- Proficient in hands-on physical work, including lifting/moving equipment, rack installation, cabling, and use of common hand tools.
- Experience with inventory management and asset tracking (including tagging, serial number tracking, and use of spreadsheets).
- Basic familiarity with device setup and network registration.
- Exceptional organizational skills and close attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for routine coordination with vendors, facilities, and lab users.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Redmond, WA.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field such as Electronics, IT, or Engineering.
- Experience working in electronics, wireless, hardware, or R&D laboratory environments.
- Familiarity with shipping, receiving, and technical logistics processes.
- Experience with device network registration and provisioning in lab environments.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety practices, including ESD controls and PPE use, as well as coordination with facilities and EHS programs.
- Familiarity with electronic asset management or inventory management systems.
CA Base Pay $55,000—$75,000 USD
