Job description

Job Summary: The Material Handler is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, storage, and management of materials within the manufacturing facility. This role involves loading and unloading materials, delivering parts to production areas, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring raw materials and finished goods are handled properly to support continuous production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and transport raw materials, components, and finished products to designated locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Track and record material movements to maintain accurate inventory levels. Perform regular cycle counts and assist with stock audits.
  • Supply production lines with the necessary materials and components in a timely manner to avoid downtime.
  • Assist in receiving deliveries, checking materials against packing slips, and preparing products for shipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols for material handling, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation of material handling equipment.
  • Complete all required shipping, receiving, and inventory paperwork accurately and promptly.
  • Organize materials in storage areas, maintain cleanliness, and ensure items are stored in designated locations following FIFO (First In, First Out) or other inventory methods.
  • Conduct daily inspections of forklifts and other material handling equipment, reporting any issues to supervisors.
  • Must comply with the company’s safety policies. Qualifications:
  • Previous experience required.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Basic computer skills (inventory systems, barcode scanners, ERP systems).
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull materials (up to specified weight limits).
  • Strong teamwork and communication abilities.
