Job description
About SafeLease
At SafeLease, we're rethinking how P&C insurance is sold in an age of technological change. We believe the industry's biggest inefficiencies aren't technical problems — they're structural ones. And we're building the team to tackle them.
SafeLease is a profitable insurance business that designs, underwrites, and distributes specialty coverage for commercial property owners and their tenants. Most insurance companies either distribute products or bear the risk — we do both. We back our policies with our own capital, which means we control the full stack: product design, tech, and the speed at which we move. That end-to-end ownership lets us offer customers real flexibility, saving time and money for more than 4,000 properties insured for billions in value nationwide.
We're a team of 85, growing over 100% annually, and we've done it without sacrificing profitability or culture. Here, you'll get high discretion and a wide aperture of problems to solve. We embrace the newest technologies, move fast together, and operate with the intensity of a small company where every person's work is visible. If you're looking for a place to sharpen your craft alongside people who take their work seriously, you'll fit right in.
Position Overview We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to support legal, corporate, regulatory, and administrative matters across SafeLease. This person will work closely with our Founder and CEO and will also assist with legal and corporate matters related to the Founder-CEO's private investment fund. This is a broad paralegal role with exposure to contracts, corporate governance, entity management, regulatory matters, transactions, compliance, and outside counsel. This is an in-office role based in Austin, Texas and will report directly to our Founder and CEO.
About the Role
This role is a good fit for an experienced paralegal who enjoys working across a range of legal and corporate matters and wants significant ownership within a growing company. You'll help manage contracts and legal documents, maintain corporate records, support regulatory and compliance matters, coordinate with outside counsel, and assist with transactions and investments. You'll also help build and improve the processes we use to manage legal requests, documentation, deadlines, and corporate records as the company grows. The right person is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working independently, and able to keep multiple matters moving at once. You'll work directly with our Founder and CEO and have access to highly confidential business and legal information, so good judgment and discretion are extremely important.
