We’re looking for a compassionate, confident and relationship-focused RSE Pastoral Care Coordinator to support the wellbeing of our Recognised Seasonal Employees across our Hastings accommodation sites during our peak apple season.

This is a fixed-term role from approximately mid-October to mid-May. Flexibility will be important, as the role may include early starts, split shifts and some after-hours support when our teams are heading out to orchards or need assistance outside standard hours.

What you’ll be doing:

Working alongside our Pastoral Care Coordinators, you’ll help provide duty of care for up to 350 Pacific team members across three large RSE sites.

Your focus will be supporting their physical, mental and cultural wellbeing, and helping ensure they have safe, healthy and well-managed accommodation during their time with Mr Apple. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Build trusted relationships with team leaders and RSE team members
  • Carry out welfare checks and provide day-to-day pastoral support
  • Support team members with medical appointments and general wellbeing needs
  • Complete accommodation inspections and help oversee day-to-day supplies across sites
  • Run meetings to set expectations, gather feedback and provide support
  • Support inductions and help our RSE team settle into life and work in New Zealand

What you’ll bring:

If you’re looking for meaningful work where you can make a real difference, build genuine relationships and support people through their experience in New Zealand, this could be the perfect role for you. Ideally, you will bring:

  • A caring, empathetic approach and genuine interest in supporting people’s wellbeing
  • Confidence to be firm but fair, ability to set clear expectations and build strong relationships
  • Experience leading, supervising or supporting people, ideally in a care, education, team leader or similar people-focused role
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to connect with people from a wide mix of cultures and backgrounds
  • Sound judgement, discretion and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately

What we offer

  • An opportunity to make a lasting impact on our RSE’s New Zealand experience
  • Rewarding role within a supportive team environment
  • Company provided van to conduct work duties

If you are after a role where your input can make a real difference, we’d love to hear from you!
