Job description

Quindar Quindar builds modern, cloud-native satellite mission operations software with a simple mission: to operate satellites like servers. Our platform replaces fragmented, legacy ground systems with an integrated, automation-driven approach that brings modern software velocity to space operations. We're a small, fast-moving team with deep aerospace and software roots, energized by big challenges and motivated by the impact we have on real missions in this next chapter of the Space Age. If you want to work with sharp, ambitious people who push boundaries, move quickly, and are excited to take space operations to the next level, Quindar is the place to do it.

What You’ll Be Doing 👨‍💻👩‍💻 🛰 🛰

Architect, automate, test, deploy, and maintain a well-designed and highly available software infrastructure deployed in Kubernetes within cloud or on-premises environments. Implement practices to enable DevSecOps with a focus on security and compliance for SOC2, NIST 800-171, and FedRAMP Medium controls. You will own the Kubernetes deployment strategy and work with the software development team to ensure a successful architecture and software product. You will help develop secure ingress and egress to customer and vendor data centers in a multi and single-tenant environment. As the team is developing, you will also provide best practices for availability, latency, and performance of services. You will spend time working directly with Quindar’s customers to ensure successful architecture deployment to both cloud environments and offline or secure facilities while ensuring alignment to a clean infrastructure vision. You will be a part of the engineering team of frontend and backend engineers working in an Agile Scrum environment.

Tech Skills:

  • Expertise managing Kubernetes-based architecture and providing platform infrastructure in a production environment

  • Proficiency in Python and experience working with software teams developing distributed microservice software capabilities
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similar
  • Familiarity with cloud services in AWS (preferred) / Azure / GCP and ability to make trades on cloud native vs self-hosted software capabilities
  • Working knowledge of monitoring tools such as New Relic, DataDog, Splunk, AWS CloudWatch or similar

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containerized applications, and serverless architecture
  • Strong knowledge of designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting APIs services, distributed NoSQL and relational databases, caching systems, event-driven and multi-tier architectures
  • Strong knowledge of task automation and CI/CD pipeline building, preferably with GitHub actions but not required
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems

  • Use of identity and access management via Auth0 or Okta
  • Familiarity with Git and GitHub or similar framework for version control

Soft Skills:

  • Independent self-starter; able to complete projects on time with minimal guidance
  • A high standard for software maintainability, quality, resilience, and performance
  • Strong communications skills and ability to engage effectively across development teams, program management, and customers

Background Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related field)
  • 3+ years of professional experience as a reliability, systems, DevOps, infrastructure, or platform engineer
