Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. We are looking for an Opto-mechanical production technician to help prototype, build & test our products throughout the product life cycle.
What you’ll do:
- Perform various optical assemblies involving optical lenses, optical fiber, mirrors, lasers, etc.
- Assembly of product using procedures, drawings or internal specifications
- Repair/Troubleshoot defective product
- Assist engineering in building and testing prototypes
- Perform data collection and data analysis as needed
- Test product performance
- Inspect and or test optical components
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on various components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies
- Document inspection reports and collaborate with Quality, Product Design, and Manufacturing teams to address inspection findings
- Perform other work related activities as assigned
What you have:
- 3+ years of experience in opto-mechanical / fiber optics related field
- Experience in optical alignment and assembly using fixtures, hand tools and microscopes
- Experience in performing visual inspections with or without microscope
- Experience in performing measurements using equipment such as calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges, and height gauges.
- Ability to document and communicate inspection results in a detailed manner
- Demonstrated ability to achieve result independently and work well with others
- Great communication & computer skills, proactive, self-starter, great attention to detail and organized
- Good understanding of engineering principles
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and process procedures
- Ability to recommend and implement improvements
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and procedures closely while offering suggestions for continuous improvement
- Demonstrates safety consciousness and strives to address safety or process concerns when they arise
- Detail oriented and a strong mind set in quality work
