Job description
Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying metal. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible. Shift Hours: Day shift (8AM to 4PM), with flexibility to cover second and weekend shifts as needed..
You will:
- Receive all inbound material and verify it against the BOL, packing slip, and PO before the driver leaves
- Log every receipt into our system, tag it, and put it where it belongs
- Keep certification and traceability documents permanently tied to the physical material
- Run a rolling cycle count program and chase every variance to root cause
- Direct material handlers on receiving and put-away priorities, and write the procedures they follow
- Tell our engineers what the inventory software needs to do. When something on the floor is broken, you define the fix
You are:
- Precise with numbers and paperwork. A count that is close is a count that is wrong
- Comfortable on a warehouse floor, on your feet, running a forklift
- Strong with spreadsheets and quick to pick up new software
- Willing to hold a line on process, including with people senior to you
- Comfortable being the first person in this seat, building a system instead of inheriting one
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and remain on your feet for a full shift
- Never says "that's not my job"
Nice to have:
- Metals, aerospace, defense, or other regulated-material experience
- Familiarity with mill test reports, DFARS, or ISO 9001
- Cycle counting or physical inventory program experience
- Freight quoting or carrier negotiation exposure
- WMS or ERP experience of any kind
- Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter
The role is full time, in person in Detroit.
