Position Summary:

The Sales Support Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting our sales and engineering teams by providing technical expertise, generating accurate quotes, and ensuring our solutions meet both customer requirements and company capabilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, with specific experience in cable harness design and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with customers and the sales team to understand specific project requirements and cable harness needs, ensuring proposals are tailored to meet customer expectations.
  • Analyze technical specifications and engineering drawings to determine the necessary materials, components, and manufacturing processes required for cable harness assemblies or cabling, enabling accurate cost estimation.
  • Understand and apply Mil/Aerospace specifications to determine appropriate testing requirements and associated costs a plus.
  • Ensure all drawings and documentation align with Cicoil's manufacturing capabilities and standards, confirming suitability for production.
  • Conduct research on required components, obtaining pricing and availability information to generate accurate lead times for project completion.
  • Utilize Autodesk Inventor to create detailed drawings and sketches that aid in the quoting process, ensuring clarity and precision.
  • Employ Office Suite applications and the ERP system to generate comprehensive and timely customer quotes. Epicor experience a plus.
  • Work in close cooperation with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers and manufacturing staff, to ensure a thorough understanding of manufacturing costs based on current production methods.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clarity and understanding throughout the sales process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in mechanical quoting or design within a related industry.

Demonstrated expertise in electro-mechanical systems and/or cable harness design.

  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor or equivalent 3D modeling software.
  • Solid understanding of both electrical and mechanical engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations pertaining to cable harness design is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge and experience with Epicor or a similar ERP system preferred
