About The Role
G2 is looking for a Senior Analytics Engineer who will be operating at the intersection of business, analytics and engineering. The Senior Analytics Engineer plays a pivotal role in converting raw information into strategic insights and product features. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional stakeholders and technical departments to translate complex analytical requirements into sustainable, AI-ready data architectures and modeling solutions. By taking full ownership of sophisticated transformation designs and data modeling, you will fundamentally shape G2’s data environment, ensuring our assets remain scalable, reliable, and perfectly tuned for diverse organizational needs. This role is designed for a professional who excels through proactive initiative, technical mastery, and a commitment to continuous discovery.
In This Role, You Will:
- Data Modeling & Pipeline Development
- Design, develop, and maintain robust DBT data pipelines and data models to support buyer experience, experimentation and ecommerce tracking
- Build resilient and auto-recoverable data pipelines for data transformations subject to strict SLAs, performance expectations and data quality standards
- Optimize data pipelines and debug analytical use cases and data quality issues.
- Develop data models following best practices and industry standards
- Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Functionally understand ecommerce business processes especially in the areas of customer transactions, ecommerce website experimentation and AB testing
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business OKRs into technical solutions
- Data Governance & Security
- Document and maintain the data catalog to enable data democratization and governance
- Define semantic views with clear business context and metadata to enable AI-ready, self-service data consumption
- Ensure data security, compliance, and cost efficiency across environments.
- Leadership & Mentoring
- Mentor and guide other data platform associates with solutioning, code reviews and best practices adoption.

- 6+ years of experience in implementing enterprise data solutions
- 3+ years of experience using ETL/data pipeline and orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow, Airbyte, Glue, Prefect etc)
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in data modeling, optimization and database architecture.
- Extensive experience in writing, debugging, and tuning SQL queries
- Strong programming experience in Python or Java
- Good understanding of the AWS data services (DynamoDB, RDS, Data Pipeline, EMR, Lambda, Glue, ECS, etc.) and cloud data warehouses like Snowflake
- Must have good knowledge of performance tuning, optimization and debugging of data pipelines
- Experience with enterprise data and business intelligence platforms serving large-scale enterprise deployments
- Proven track record of leading and delivering complex data projects within cloud environments
- Good problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills
- Good understanding of software engineering principles and standards
- Functionally understand ecommerce business processes, especially in the areas of customer transactions, ecommerce website experimentation and AB testing
- Understanding of distributed computing and frameworks like Apache Spark, Hadoop, and Apache Kafka for handling large volumes of data is a plus
What Can Help Your Application Stand Out:
- Experience in data modeling, schema design, and optimizing data structures for performance in Snowflake
- Experience building semantic layers or AI-ready data products
- Working experience in startup environments
- Experience with Agile process methodology, CI/CD automation, Test Driven Development
- Experience in working with Google Analytics and/or Snowplow data
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards within cloud-based data solutions
- Understanding of any reporting tools such as Tableau, Qlikview , Looker, PowerBI etc
- Database administration background
