MEET THE TEAM!
This role is embedded within either the B2B domain and is part of Preply’s Data Chapter. You will work closely with directors, B2B leaders, and cross-functional partners across finance and product teams, while collaborating with data analysts, data scientists, and analytics engineers to strengthen analytical foundations and business impact.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Business and Operations to proactively identify where new analyses, metrics, or frameworks can unlock improvements in retention, revenue, and operational efficiency.
- Build and own the analytical framework leadership uses to evaluate B2B trade-offs, and define the long-term measurement framework that identifies structural growth levers, not just incremental wins.
- Lead high-complexity, end-to-end analytical initiatives — including retention and cohort analyses that answer specific open questions from B2B leadership — uncovering root causes behind revenue retention, LTV, churn, utilization, and cost efficiency, and turning findings into concrete pricing, product, or lifecycle recommendations.
- Own impact modeling, scenario analysis, and KPI governance for B2B: resolve conflicting metric definitions across Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Product, maintain a single source of truth, and feed directly into quarterly and annual planning.
- Design the experimentation and analytics agenda, what gets tested, how success is measured, and translate results into executive-ready storytelling that aligns stakeholders on goals and trade-offs.
- Partner with Directors and VPs to shape B2B strategy, embed analytics into daily decision-making, and mentor senior analysts to raise the analytical bar.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- 5+ years of experience in analytics roles (ideally in B2B), with demonstrated ownership of KPI frameworks and measurable impact on retention, revenue, or efficiency.
- You can point to specific decisions (a pricing change, a resourcing call, a roadmap cut) that happened because of your analysis, and one where your recommendation was rejected, with the judgment to explain why, in hindsight, that was right or wrong.
- You've owned a metric or strategic framework other teams were required to use, and resolved a conflict between two teams who each wanted a different definition to win.
- Deep understanding of retention and performance metrics (revenue retention, LTV, churn, utilization, cost efficiency), and the ability to build an LTV or cohort model from scratch, not just interpret one someone else built.
- Strong, independent SQL, you're the person other analysts send their code to for review; proven ability to lead cross-functional analytical projects end-to-end.
- Strong business acumen and stakeholder influence: comfortable saying no to a request that wasn't the right question, clarifying trade-offs in metrics and resourcing, and building forecast or scenario models that leadership uses to defend a bet to their own leadership.
NICE TO HAVE
- Background in B2B SaaS, enterprise, or account-based business models; exposure to customer support operations.
- Experience building or scaling an analytics function (hiring, tooling, process, KPI frameworks).
- Hands-on experience with Looker, Snowflake, Tableau, or Power BI.
- Working knowledge of Python for analysis.
- Master's or PhD in a quantitative field.
