Job description

About Us: At Atolio, we are a fully remote, well-funded startup founded by experienced leaders from Splunk and PagerDuty. We’re on a mission to make organizational knowledge instantly accessible regardless of which app, service, or platform it lives in. We’re an early series startup combining cutting-edge machine learning and AI to solve some of the most complex challenges in enterprise search: indexing, retrieval, and scaling across multi-cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure). With a collaborative culture, robust tools, and comprehensive benefits, Atolio is a place where innovation and creativity thrive. About the Role: As a Senior Deployment Engineer, you’ll serve as a key link between our engineering and client success teams. You’ll ensure that Atolio’s enterprise search platform is deployed smoothly, securely, and efficiently in a variety of environments. You’ll take ownership of the full deployment lifecycle, including environment setup, infrastructure provisioning, configuration, integration, and monitoring. Your work will play a vital role in driving client adoption and satisfaction. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead client specific deployments and onboarding of Atolio’s platform in cloud native or hybrid environments
  • Design and implement deployment processes focused on scalability, security, and reliability
  • Integrate Atolio with a range of enterprise systems (e.g., document repositories, ticketing systems, code repositories)
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize deployment pipelines and system performance
  • Build automation scripts and tooling to streamline operations and minimize manual tasks
  • Troubleshoot and resolve deployment issues in collaboration with clients' internal engineering teams
  • Maintain accurate deployment documentation and promote best practices for internal and external use

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ years in a deployment, DevOps, site reliability, or infrastructure engineering role
  • Deep experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
  • Strong background in containerization, especially with Kubernetes
  • Proficiency with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and Helm
  • Knowledge of secure networking, identity management (e.g., SAML, OIDC), and API integrations
  • Familiarity with enterprise tools such as Okta, ServiceNow, SharePoint, or Salesforce
  • Experience with observability platforms such as Grafana, Splunk, or Datadog
  • Programming experience in at least one language (Go, Python, or similar); familiarity with Golang is a plus
  • Excellent troubleshooting abilities and clear, empathetic communication with external stakeholders
  • A mindset focused on automation, repeatability, and scalable solutions
  • Experience deploying on-premises enterprise solutions is preferred
  • Background in search, data pipelines, or large-scale distributed systems is preferred

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

  • Make an impact from day one: your work will directly support client success
  • Autonomy and ownership: we empower you to make key technical and operational decisions
  • Flexible hours and remote-friendly culture: work in a way that fits your life
  • Transparent founders and mission-driven team: help build meaningful technology with real-world impact

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and early-stage equity
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage
  • Home office stipend
  • Flexible PTO policy

Why work at Atolio

  • Culture highlights: Founded by veterans of Splunk and PagerDuty. The team is described as "growing with big ambitions" and dedicated to improving workplace efficiency. The founders emphasize building "the company we've always dreamed of."
  • Remote/hybrid/office policy: Fully remote-first culture. The team is distributed across Toronto, Nashville, Vancouver, San Francisco, Halifax, Denver, and beyond. The company has two physical offices (likely Denver and one in Canada) but employees work remotely. The founders note they "always worked remote" and designed the company to be distributed from the start.
  • Notable perks or engineering culture: Engineers work on a technically challenging product (AI, search, security, cloud infrastructure). The company is model-agnostic, meaning engineers get exposure to multiple LLMs and cloud providers. The self-hosted nature means deep work on infrastructure, security, and performance. Small, growing team offers significant ownership and impact.
