Job description

About Us

At Pickle Robot, we're on a mission to automate global supply chains with Physical AI. Our robots work alongside warehouse teams to unload trucks and containers — one of the toughest, most understaffed jobs in logistics — making the work safer, faster, and more efficient for the people doing it.  Loading trucks comes next, followed by the Dill Autonomy Engine: generalized autonomy that will eventually orchestrate robots across entire logistics processes.

We're looking for a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of electrical systems for our next-generation industrial robotic products. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast-paced R&D environments and enjoys both hands-on design and technical leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Own system-level electrical architecture for robotic platforms, including complex embedded systems — analog/digital circuits, power electronics, power distribution, and system-level interfaces
  • Design, develop, and hands-on debug electrical systems, from schematic capture and PCB layout through bring-up and validation
  • Develop electrical requirements, specifications, design verification plans, and test procedures that drive system-level design
  • Create and maintain electrical drawings, schematics, and PCB layouts; lead technical design reviews
  • Partner with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams to execute product designs from concept through production — prototyping, validation, testing, and certification
  • Deliver cost-effective, manufacturable electrical solutions and support release to production and field deployment, including troubleshooting, build support, and sustaining engineering
  • Champion safety, EMC, and compliance throughout the electrical design process, applying functional safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508)
  • Mentor other engineers on technical approach and design best practices, without formal management responsibility
  • Execute on tight schedules while maintaining high-quality and reliability standards

What You'll Bring

  • An Electrical Engineer with 8+ years of experience in robotics, automation, or related electromechanical systems, including robotic system integration and industrial automation
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering required (M.S. preferred)
  • Strong background in electrical safety, control systems, and system-level design, with knowledge of autonomous mobile robots and industrial robot safety standards
  • Knowledgeable in AC/DC power distribution, protection systems, and 3-phase industrial power (U.S. and EU standards)
  • Skilled in cable harness design, interconnect solutions, and system wiring
  • Experienced with power electronics, motors, motor control, and sensors (Hall effect, encoders, load cells)
  • Proficient in PCB design, schematic layout, and assembly using tools like Altium; familiarity with CAD tools such as OnShape is a plus
  • A strong communicator who can lead, influence, and coordinate across engineering disciplines
  • Able to work from our Charlestown, MA office at least 4 days per week
